Supports leadership with executive presentations, financial and operating models, market and strategic research, partnership and acquisition evaluations, compliance and governance coordination, and high-priority special projects. The role requires solving ambiguous business problems, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, creating actionable recommendations, and driving initiatives from analysis through execution across an early-stage AI and life sciences company.

Own biodefense product and commercial execution, identifying U.S. government opportunities, designing technical evaluations, defining deployment requirements, building prototypes, and converting pilots into funded programs. Partner with government scientists, researchers, engineers, applications teams, and legal through award and negotiation. The role requires expertise in pathogen genomics and biosurveillance, understanding of government procurement and award pathways, prototype-building ability, and comfort navigating authorization, procurement, data-access, and incumbent-contract obstacles.

Leads business development strategy across pharma, diagnostics, synthetic biology, and selected biodefense partnerships. Builds senior industry relationships, identifies use cases, translates AI research capabilities into commercial opportunities, and structures and closes complex research, licensing, platform access, data, and co-development deals. The role also establishes the business development function and collaborates with researchers and product leaders to shape partner programs.
