Design, analyze, fabricate, and improve custom production equipment for manufacturing and assembling portable nuclear microreactors. Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers, develop semi-remote fueling and defueling equipment, and manage suppliers for components and fabrication. The role requires mechanical equipment design, CAD modeling, fabrication drawing development, GD&T, and analytical or finite element analysis methods. This position is fully onsite in El Segundo and may require extended hours or weekends.

Owns state and local permitting for transporting and deploying portable nuclear microreactors at customer sites. Responsibilities include preparing applications, managing contractors and consultants, coordinating with regulatory, engineering, legal, operations, and community teams, tracking approvals and risks, supporting site selection and policy efforts, and developing repeatable permitting processes. Requires expertise in zoning, siting, environmental review, construction permits, and highly regulated infrastructure projects.

Manage Radiant’s export control and trade compliance program for advanced nuclear technologies. Responsibilities include classifying products under ITAR, EAR, Part 810, and Part 110; advising engineering and supply chain teams on sanctions and procurement compliance; reviewing public materials for export control and intellectual property concerns; and managing export licensing applications and reporting.

Leads Radiant’s congressional strategy and government affairs efforts to secure authorization, appropriations, procurement, and policy support for advanced nuclear microreactor deployments. Builds relationships with Congress, committee staff, government stakeholders, consultants, and industry partners; tracks legislative cycles; prepares policy and briefing materials; translates technical capabilities into legislative objectives; supports executives and cross-functional teams; and ensures lobbying, ethics, and disclosure compliance.

Designs and develops critical reactor structures, including shielding, container, graphite, and metallic systems. Performs trade studies, material selection, thermomechanical and dynamic structural analyses using hand calculations and finite element tools. Leads assembly, manufacturing, integration, testing, BOM management, supplier development, schedules, and subsystem FMEA. Collaborates across engineering disciplines and works onsite in El Segundo, with extended hours as needed.

Independently source and qualify leads across commercial verticals; run full sales cycles from discovery to term sheet; negotiate commercial documents; build and maintain a high-quality pipeline; develop proposals and grant letters; learn siting, licensing, permitting, and project finance to close deals; represent Radiant externally.

Own full-cycle technical recruiting to source, assess, and close top talent across technical and corporate roles. Partner with hiring managers and leadership to define hiring strategies, develop structured processes, drive proactive sourcing and employer branding, represent Radiant at events, and use data to improve recruitment outcomes.

Own top-of-funnel sourcing to build pipelines of passive technical and corporate talent. Design outreach campaigns, leverage sourcing tools, track pipelines, provide market intelligence, represent Radiant at events, and partner with recruiters and hiring managers to fill engineering-heavy roles.

Lead and grow a team designing, modeling, and validating electrical power systems and power electronics for portable nuclear microreactors. Own system architecture, stability and protection analysis, hardware integration, SIL/HIL testing, and regulatory/power-quality compliance across grid-connected, islanded, and space environments. Coordinate cross-functionally and report to executive leadership.

Build and run Radiant's supplier reliability program: qualify and onboard suppliers, author quality documentation, execute audits, develop capability-improvement plans, define procurement acceptance strategies, monitor supplier performance, manage inspections and non-conformances, and partner with engineering and manufacturing to ensure parts meet nuclear-quality requirements.

Support design, build, and maintenance of NI PXI-based HIL test benches. Configure test hardware, integrate with Digital Twin, execute test procedures, collect and document data, troubleshoot hardware, and assist senior engineers with electrical integration and harness assembly.

Program, set up, and operate 3- to 5-axis CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components. Translate engineering drawings and GD&T into manufacturable parts, select tooling and parameters, troubleshoot floor issues, optimize programs and processes, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve manufacturability and cycle times.

Develop and maintain Reactor Operator training materials, qualification records, and evaluation tools to DOE/NRC standards. Embed with engineering, test, and operations teams to capture lessons learned, manage documentation lifecycles in configuration-controlled systems, support test plans and regulatory documents, and deliver instructional sessions.

Build and lead Radiant's enterprise risk management function. Map liability exposure across entities, design and procure multi-line insurance (including nuclear-specific layers), quantify financial risk and contingency reserves, develop reporting and KPIs, and partner cross-functionally to close compliance and licensing gaps. Own risk governance and act as primary liaison with brokers, carriers, legal, operations, finance, and regulators.

The Mechanical Engineer will design fluid systems, perform thermal analysis, manage assembly, select components, and conduct testing to support a nuclear microreactor project.

Lead legislative affairs, engage with Congress, shape policy for advanced nuclear systems deployment, and develop congressional strategy supporting federal programs.

The Director of Regulatory Affairs will lead regulatory and licensing strategies and ensure compliance with the NRC, driving product development and market entry.
