Support silicon photonics product development in a foundry environment by enabling tape-outs, creating and executing design rules/DRC/PDK revisions, assessing waiver requests, coordinating with foundry and reliability teams, and supporting qualification, debugging, and engineering samples for system builds.

Own yield improvement, defect inspection, failure analysis post-dicing, and process transfers to high-volume manufacturing. Interface with foundries, packaging/assembly teams, and vendors. Use data analysis (e.g., JMP), SPC/DOE, and formal problem-solving (FMEA, 8D) to improve stability, reliability, and yield while managing cross-functional projects.

Run DRC/LVS/ERC/antenna/density and parasitic extraction flows using foundry PDKs; validate electrical routing for photonic integrated circuits; generate extracted netlists and views for post-layout simulation; maintain logs and reports; support block- and chip-level verification and resolve layout issues prior to tapeout.

Develop and optimize software systems for wafer- and die-level photonic IC testing, focusing on high-throughput circuit and functional tests. Define automation specifications, build parallel/asynchronous testing infrastructure, extend vendor platforms, optimize tools, and collaborate with data teams to deliver end-to-end testing solutions.

Lead installation, commissioning, and maintenance of large-scale cryostats and associated vacuum, instrumentation, and control systems. Develop commissioning procedures, perform diagnostics, preventative and corrective maintenance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability, safety compliance, and documentation in an R&D/production environment.

Design and run experiments to characterize integrated photonic circuits, test devices (couplers, interferometers, EO modulators), develop automated control and data acquisition with Python, analyze results, collaborate with designers to troubleshoot and scale testing for large photonic systems, and document findings.

Develop and execute validation plans for cryogenic electro-optical assemblies. Build and instrument lab setups, automate measurements, collect and analyze data, debug and characterize devices, and report results with yield estimates while collaborating with design and experimental teams.
