Lead sourcing and supplier management for advanced manufactured, build-to-print components. Develop sourcing strategies, run RFIs/RFPs, negotiate contracts, industrialize suppliers, manage performance and risks, and collaborate with Engineering and Quality to ensure manufacture-to-specification, first-article qualification, and continuous procurement process improvement using digital tools and AI.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will design components for Proxima Fusion's SMC, develop prototyping and testing plans, and collaborate with suppliers on design improvements.

Design, develop, and maintain software platforms for stellarator simulation and design. Automate large-scale simulation workflows, manage cloud-based data storage, build web applications for collaboration and discovery, and integrate AI tools. Work closely with researchers to apply simulation tools, guide users, and co-develop applications that accelerate fusion R&D.

Own end-to-end multiphysics simulation pipelines for a commercial stellarator fusion power plant. Build finite-element and reduced-order models, integrate them with the software codebase, define engineering interfaces, run large-scale parameter studies, and validate load cases through benchmarking, analytical cross-checks, and experiments. The role informs hardware design decisions across plasma, magnets, structures, cryogenics, heating, and controls.

Provides administrative support to the Leadership Team by coordinating calendars, booking travel, arranging logistics, tracking expenses, preparing meeting documents, taking notes, and managing recurring internal meetings. The role requires strong organization, discretion, reliability, communication, flexibility, and proficiency with productivity tools in a fast-paced environment.

Develop and industrialize manufacturing processes for high-temperature superconducting magnet coils. Responsibilities include designing and validating tooling, fixtures, assembly sequences, work instructions, process controls, inspection methods, and quality systems. Lead prototype builds, NPI campaigns, process trials, root-cause analysis, supplier qualification, engineering change control, and the transition from prototype to serial production. Collaborate with design, materials, quality, supply chain, and test engineering teams in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Own controls engineering for new magnet manufacturing equipment, including control architecture, Beckhoff PLC software, field networks, servo drives, HMIs, safety systems, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation. Collaborate with mechanical, process, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to develop reliable automation solutions for coil winding, impregnation, joining, and end-of-line testing.

As a Neutronics Engineer, you will analyze neutronics for the Alpha stellarator, automate simulations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance fusion technology for clean energy.

Coordinate day-to-day people operations across regions, manage employee lifecycle administration (onboarding/offboarding), maintain SOPs and policies, partner with external providers (payroll/benefits), resolve people queries, track compliance and risks, and identify process improvements using HR systems.
