Owns planning and execution of lithium-ion cell and aircraft battery pack testing, including performance characterization, thermal runaway, abuse, environmental, and durability testing. Designs fixtures, instrumentation, hazard controls, and data-acquisition systems; analyzes test results; supports model correlation and battery design improvements; manages external laboratories; and maintains safe, traceable, calibrated test operations.

Lead Agile/Scrum execution for embedded software, firmware, DevOps, and verification teams developing eVTOL aircraft. Manage backlogs, schedules, dependencies, risks, blockers, releases, defect triage, integration, testing, and verification across software, hardware, systems, manufacturing, and flight-test teams. Maintain execution visibility using Jira, GitLab, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Project while driving predictable delivery and continuous process improvement.

Develop and maintain aircraft-level and subsystem requirements for GNC, flight controls, estimation, sensing, and embedded software. Own Jama traceability, verification matrices, V&V plans, interfaces, and objective evidence through formal closure. Collaborate with GNC, software, electrical, aeromechanical, autonomy, safety, and flight-test teams. Support SIL/HIL, simulation, bench, ground, UAV, and crewed flight testing; participate in design reviews, aircraft integration, anomaly investigation, and root-cause analysis.

Build and maintain full-stack internal applications for exploring aircraft flight data. Develop Python backend services, HTTP APIs, web interfaces, dashboards, AI-assisted diagnostic tools, data catalogs, alert review surfaces, and distributable analysis tooling. Work directly with engineering teams to define requirements, support self-service analysis, and own testing, deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, and documentation.

Build and operate Pivotal’s flight data warehouse and telemetry pipelines using AWS Glue, Athena, SQL, and Python. Design curated data marts, fleet health alerting services, data quality gates, dashboards, and query interfaces. Own data infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, and schema evolution end to end while collaborating with firmware, GNC, battery, flight operations, systems engineering, and MRO teams on telemetry and airworthiness decisions.

The Verification Engineer will oversee aeromechanical subsystem verification, translating methods into tests, designing test fixtures, executing tests, analyzing data, and producing reports.

The Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer will lead in the design and optimization of vehicle harness and avionics enclosures for eVTOL aircraft, ensuring robust performance and regulatory compliance, while collaborating with cross-functional teams for integration and testing.

Support flight test operations by performing preventative maintenance, assembling and pre-flighting aircraft and test equipment, tracking maintenance and inventory, assisting with setup/teardown at flight sites, documenting mechanical issues, and coordinating with flight test and MRO teams. Requires hands-on mechanical work, basic maintenance tasks, data entry, and local travel to Bay Area sites.

The Senior Firmware Engineer will design and implement avionics firmware, oversee architecture, ensure compliance with DO178-C, conduct trade studies, and collaborate on safety requirements for eVTOL aircraft.

Lead the design and scaling of Electric Propulsion Systems production line, focusing on automation, tooling, DFM, and risk management while mentoring engineering staff.

The Motor Controls Engineer develops and validates control algorithms for electric motors in eVTOL aircraft, collaborating across disciplines and conducting testing.

Lead certification strategies for eVTOL aircraft with FAA and global regulators, manage regulatory interactions, and ensure compliance throughout development.

Lead and manage cross-functional engineering projects (design updates, test & release, product launches, manufacturing development). Maintain schedules and budgets using Jira/MS Project/GitLab, run Scrum/Agile and waterfall processes, coordinate task owners and leadership, present to technical and executive stakeholders, drive accountability, and embed safety and risk mitigation into program execution.

Design, implement, and deploy autonomous navigation, planning, and decision-making systems for eVTOL aerial platforms. Build real-time autonomy software for constrained embedded/Linux environments, integrate with flight controllers and sensors, run simulation (SITL/HITL) and flight tests, and collaborate across perception, GNC, flight software, and hardware teams.

Lead change control and configuration management for eVTOL aircraft: manage CR/CO/CA processes, maintain PLM baselines, synchronize BOMs with ERP, enable traceability across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, support audits and quality standards, and train stakeholders to ensure product integrity and scalable production.

Support development and testing of guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) and state estimation features. Run MIL/SIL simulations, analyze simulation and flight test data, build/maintain tools and test infrastructure (MATLAB/Simulink, Python), and document procedures and results.

Design, implement, and deploy computer vision and perception systems for autonomous aerial platforms. Work on object detection, tracking, segmentation, visual navigation, SLAM, sensor fusion, camera calibration, and deploy optimized deep learning models on embedded hardware. Develop testing, simulation, and validation frameworks and collaborate with autonomy, GNC, flight software, and hardware teams to support robust autonomous operations in GPS-denied and contested environments.
