Leads Pi Security’s engineering organization and technical execution at an early-stage security startup. Responsibilities include owning the engineering roadmap, making architectural decisions, writing and reviewing code, hiring and mentoring engineers, establishing scalable engineering practices, and guiding backend, AI/ML, integrations, and security-focused platform development. The role partners with founders and customers and is fully onsite in San Francisco.

Own product design for security workflows, dashboards, investigations, remediation, and an AI assistant. Translate complex technical contexts into clear, trustworthy interfaces; create flows, prototypes, and polished UI; collaborate closely with product and engineering; conduct customer research and usability testing; and help evolve design systems and visual patterns for a fast-moving startup.

Own product positioning, messaging, competitive intelligence, field enablement, and go-to-market support for Pi’s cybersecurity platform. Translate complex product capabilities into compelling customer-facing content, support launches, engage directly with customers and prospects, and help define the product security category. Partner cross-functionally with product, sales, customer success, and technical teams in a hands-on startup environment.

Lead security research from hypothesis through production, developing LLM- and program-analysis-based methods for vulnerability detection, triage, and remediation. Build proofs of concept, datasets, benchmarks, and evaluation pipelines; validate quality against real-world code; and partner with engineering to ship capabilities. Research vulnerabilities across cloud, containers, microservices, APIs, AI-generated code, and LLM applications. Set the research agenda, maintain the vulnerability corpus, publish findings, and communicate technical impact to diverse audiences.

Build and operate production cloud infrastructure for an agentic security platform. Responsibilities include Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, databases, observability, security hardening, workflow orchestration, internal tooling, and production debugging. The role partners with engineering teams to improve deployment safety, system reliability, operational security, and developer productivity.

Build and maintain production-grade frontend features for an agentic product security platform using TypeScript, React, and Next.js. Develop accessible, performant interfaces for security findings, investigations, remediation workflows, dashboards, forms, tables, and data-heavy views. Create reusable UI patterns, robust validation flows, and type-safe data integrations while contributing to frontend testing, architecture, accessibility, code reviews, and product decisions.

Lead security research into vulnerability detection, triage, and remediation using LLMs and program analysis. Set the research agenda, develop proofs of concept, validate approaches against real-world data, design benchmarks and evaluation pipelines, build vulnerability and remediation datasets, and carry successful capabilities into production with engineering. Research modern cloud, container, microservice, API, and LLM application attack vectors while contributing to public security research and company credibility.

Design and build production backend services and autonomous AI agents for application security. Develop multi-step agentic systems, retrieval and grounding layers, evaluation pipelines, durable Temporal workflows, and LLM operations capabilities. Own system reliability, observability, cost, and quality while contributing to architecture, code reviews, and incident response.

Build production AI search and knowledge systems for security data. Responsibilities include developing RAG pipelines, hybrid and graph-based retrieval, entity and relationship modeling, code intelligence, ingestion and indexing pipelines, relevance evaluation, and grounded AI answers. The role requires improving search quality, observability, latency, and cost while ensuring authorization, tenant isolation, provenance, and safe customer data handling. You will collaborate cross-functionally to translate ambiguous needs into reliable agentic security workflows.
