Teams at PayJunction

Leads a software engineering team while remaining hands-on in production Java development. Owns technical vision, architecture, code quality, Scrum delivery, production services, incident response, and PCI DSS compliance. Partners with Product on planning and scope, develops engineers through reviews and coaching, and manages hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and team growth. The role supports flexible remote, hybrid, or Santa Barbara office work for employees residing in approved states.

Owns the Payment Experience product domain, including virtual terminal, surcharging, tender types, and login/security. Develops product vision, strategy, roadmaps, backlogs, and merchant adoption initiatives. Navigates payment regulations, card-brand rules, PCI, ACH requirements, and partnerships. Conducts discovery, prioritizes work, collaborates with Agile engineering teams, and measures outcomes including revenue, adoption, retention, and deal enablement.

Own and improve PayJunction’s IT infrastructure, including Mac fleets, Ubuntu servers, AWS environments, networking, identity systems, monitoring, incident response, and automation. Build Terraform-managed infrastructure and data pipelines integrating MySQL, Salesforce, and spreadsheet data into a warehouse. Lead security, PCI compliance, patching, vulnerability management, audits, system migrations, and occasional help desk support while maintaining thorough documentation.
