Candidates must complete an accredited cardiac ultrasound education program or have relevant hospital experience. Registration through ARDMS or CCI and current BLS CPR certification are required or must be obtained within specified timeframes.

Performs routine, complex, and special neurodiagnostic examinations, including EEG and sleep studies, to support physician diagnosis and treatment. Sets up, records, monitors, stages, and scores studies; administers CPAP when indicated; troubleshoots equipment; follows infection-control procedures; supports patient comfort; and responds appropriately to patient-related situations. Maintains required certifications, regulatory knowledge, and professional competence.

Leads complex healthcare audits across clinical operations, revenue cycle, billing, coding, and regulatory compliance. Reviews hospital, outpatient, and ambulatory coding alerts, billing edits, denials, and documentation issues before final billing. Verifies CPT and diagnosis coding, resolves code conflicts, validates medical necessity and reimbursement requirements, and supports unbilled account resolution. The technologist maintains supplies, participates in quality improvement and Joint Commission readiness activities, consults radiologists as needed, and stays current with imaging standards, certifications, and applicable regulations.

Architect and deliver enterprise-scale software platforms across multiple clients and business domains. Codes and abstracts inpatient encounters using ICD-10-CM/PCS and related coding systems, ensuring accurate DRG assignment, billing, reimbursement, and medical-record data. Reviews charts, audits coding accuracy, resolves documentation issues with physicians and nurses, and coaches other coders. Maintains compliance with coding guidelines, payer requirements, laws, and organizational policies while meeting productivity and quality standards.
