This is a 100% on-site summer internship for students entering their junior or senior year of a mechanical engineering program.

Supports the HR team by updating job descriptions, assisting with employee communications, maintaining bulletin boards, conducting vision screenings, supporting emergency drills and company events, helping recruiters disposition applicants, responding to employee inquiries, and attending department meetings.

Supports the Communications Division software engineering team by developing embedded C, C++, or Python code for wireless and mission-critical systems. Responsibilities include DSP and AI/ML algorithm development for audio processing and sensor fusion, hardware architecture and PCB schematic work in Altium, prototype development, laboratory testing, engineering tests, and technology research.

Electrical Engineering Intern supporting OTTO’s Communications Division. Responsibilities include creating and modifying PCB schematics in Altium, building and testing breadboard circuits, debugging circuits, collecting and presenting data, participating in product development, and creating Engineering Change Notices. The role is fully on-site and intended for a student pursuing a BSEE who has completed foundational electrical engineering coursework and understands basic circuits and schematics.

Analyzes pricing, margins, costs, market conditions, customer behavior, and sales trends across a large product portfolio. Develops pricing models, baseline list prices, margin targets, competitive positioning, and profitability recommendations. Partners with Engineering, Sales, Finance, and leadership on new product pricing, lifecycle management, customer-specific agreements, forecasting, and financial impact analysis. Maintains price sheets and supports margin improvement initiatives.

Manages cross-functional product development projects from concept through production. Coordinates engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, vendors, customers, and partners; develops requirements, schedules, milestones, budgets, and contingency plans. Maintains BOMs, engineering change notices, project costs, and documentation; leads project meetings, phase-gate reviews, and management presentations. Requires engineering experience, project management expertise, strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and planning skills.

Manage cross-functional product development projects from concept through production. Coordinate engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, vendors, customers, and partners; develop requirements, schedules, milestones, budgets, and project documentation. Track costs, BOMs, engineering changes, phase-gate requirements, risks, and root-cause issues. Lead project meetings, provide status reports and monthly management reviews, and ensure projects launch on schedule and within budget.

Design and develop ruggedized analog and digital electronics from concept through production. Responsibilities include circuit design, PCB layout, embedded firmware, RF/EMC testing, component selection, test-fixture design, production support, technical sales support, and documentation (schematics, BOMs, ECNs). Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and sales teams and support ongoing products and test equipment.

Design and lead development of rugged communications and power-management electronics from concept through production. Responsibilities include analog/digital/audio circuit design, component selection, PCB guidance (Altium), hardware bring‑up, validation, EMC/ESD mitigation, failure analysis, test development, production support, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure regulatory and customer requirements are met.

Design and prototype analog and digital circuitry for rugged communications and power-management products. Select components, create schematics/BOMs, validate performance and compliance, support production test development, troubleshoot and sustain products, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Mechanical, and Sales.

Manage product development from concept through production by coordinating engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers. Create schedules, track budgets and NRE/tooling costs, run meetings, manage BOMs and ECNs, present monthly reviews, and keep projects on-time using project management tools and phase-gate processes.
