Owns the enterprise payroll product and support experience, including roadmap, requirements, configuration governance, compliance controls, testing, releases, implementations, and production support. Leads payroll issue resolution, reconciliations, integrations, customer communications, knowledge management, and continuous improvement across multi-state operating companies. Partners with Payroll, Finance, HR, Operations, Systems, vendors, and auditors to ensure accurate, compliant, scalable payroll and successful conversions, cutovers, and stabilization.

Own the finance and accounting workstream for acquisitions from diligence through post-close integration. Responsibilities include quality of earnings support, exposure assessment, ASC 805 purchase accounting, opening balance sheets, working capital settlements, accounting system migrations, process standardization, control documentation, and audit readiness. The role also develops repeatable integration playbooks, advises acquired-company controllers, and requires substantial on-site travel.

Owns project accounting standards across more than 30 operating companies and $500M+ in annual project revenue. Leads ASC 606 application, WIP reporting, job costing, cost-to-complete estimates, retainage, contract modifications, loss contracts, warranty reserves, and deferred revenue processes. Drives adoption through training, reporting, verification, and collaboration with finance and systems leaders. Oversees monthly consolidated review, audit support, acquisition onboarding, and project revenue controls in a fast-growing, multi-entity organization.

Leads Helios’s national HVACR business development and profitable growth strategy. Personally originates and closes enterprise and multi-site service opportunities, expands strategic accounts, develops partnerships and channels, and builds market density. The VP establishes a repeatable pipeline, recruits and coaches a business development team, and partners with Operations, Finance, and Client Management to ensure pricing, serviceability, staffing, margins, and customer requirements support quality revenue.

Owns full-cycle ERP implementations across operating companies, including governance, configuration, change control, testing, data migration validation, training, go-live, stabilization, and transition to support. Ensures continuity across billing, cash collection, payroll, purchasing, job costing, WIP, project accounting, and financial close. Drives issue resolution, risk management, business readiness, user adoption, and executive decision-making while enforcing implementation standards and measurable outcomes.

Coordinates Orion University academies, learning sessions, and live or virtual events. Manages rosters, calendars, logistics, vendors, participant communications, LMS content, and attendance reporting. Builds eLearning modules and SCORM packages using Articulate, Mindsmith, and AI-assisted tools. Supports instructional design, research, process documentation, and live training delivery while collaborating with SMEs and operating companies.

Lead end-to-end M&A integrations as a hands-on project manager: build and run detailed plans, coordinate Finance/Operations/Systems/Talent, manage concurrent integrations, drive first-90-day outcomes, report to VP, support playbook improvements, and lead change management with operating company teams.

The Operating Associate role is a two-year apprenticeship focused on developing early-career talent into leaders through hands-on experience in Continuous Improvement and operational problem-solving, involving significant travel and learning at various operating companies across North America.
