Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on vehicle emission testing equipment, including computers, printers, gas analyzers, dynamometers, and OBD units. Maintains parts inventory, requisitions supplies, documents service activity, and provides phone support for equipment issues. Requires safe work around operating vehicles, physical lifting, and frequent walking, bending, and stooping in noisy, variable conditions.

Conduct covert audits at Rhode Island vehicle inspection stations by scheduling appointments, driving assigned vehicles, observing inspections and payments, documenting findings, and coordinating with DMV agents and management. The temporary 4–6 week role requires independent judgment, attention to detail, strong communication, a valid unrestricted driver’s license, a good driving record, background checks, and a drug screen.

Manage daily station operations and staff to meet budget and safety standards. Handle customer complaints and remitter/payment processing, prepare reports, ensure facility maintenance, perform waiver vehicle inspections per IEPA, maintain quality assurance, train and evaluate employees, and provide travel support to other stations as needed.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair vehicle inspection equipment across program locations. Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, inventory management, paperwork and reporting, support audits, provide technical consultation to facilities, and assist the Systems Support Manager as needed.

Assist station manager in daily operation of an Illinois vehicle emissions inspection station. Perform remitter transactions, waiver inspections per IEPA, overt audits, staffing support (including travel to other stations), and deliver customer service. Use Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation.
