Leads Oddball Labs’ technical vision and engineering team, establishes architecture standards, partners with product and leadership, and delivers scalable, reliable products. Responsibilities include hands-on technical leadership, roadmap development, agile experimentation, production deployments, infrastructure and CI/CD oversight, team growth, and support for sales efforts. The role requires expertise in cloud platforms, microservices, distributed systems, security, observability, and technical leadership, with federal systems and AI/ML experience preferred.

Lead the Authority to Operate lifecycle for a federal VA chatbot system, including authorization, reauthorization, continuous monitoring, control assessments, evidence collection, audit responses, and security documentation. Partner with engineering, program leadership, and VA stakeholders to maintain RMF compliance and an audit-ready security posture. Support Zero Trust Architecture adoption and maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs, PIAs, and related evidence.

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, provision infrastructure with Terraform, and manage AWS cloud services and containerized environments. The role supports Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, AI engineering platforms, secure infrastructure baselines, and internal developer tooling. The engineer partners with architecture and development teams to deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure patterns while documenting decisions and collaborating in an Agile remote environment.

Design, develop, deploy, and iterate production machine learning and generative AI solutions. Responsibilities include model development, NLP, prediction, anomaly detection, LLM and RAG integration, data pipelines, feature engineering, evaluation, monitoring, API integration, and architecture decisions. The role collaborates cross-functionally to balance accuracy, latency, cost, scalability, and maintainability.

Lead design and delivery of federal software solutions; support capture and proposal efforts; author technical volumes; ensure compliance with NIST/FedRAMP/FISMA/Section 508; build reusable solution patterns; write maintainable code and establish engineering practices.

Lead hands-on full stack development across prototypes and production systems, collaborate with architects and designers, evaluate emerging technologies (including AI/ML and Generative AI), write well-tested code, support architecture decisions, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical discovery in ambiguous problem spaces.

Design and own an enterprise-scale, multi-cloud data and analytics platform for the VA. Lead migration and modernization, implement governance/security/compliance for sensitive PII/PHI, enable AI/ML capabilities, support ingestion and interoperability across VA systems, and produce architecture and compliance documentation while collaborating with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders.

Lead content strategy and production for government proposals (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs), coordinating with capture, BD, and SMEs to produce compliant, persuasive technical and management volumes, graphics, and presentations. Drive peer reviews, ethical AI use in drafting, and improvements to the proposal process to win federal work.
