Design reliable, observable, secure systems with fine-grained access controls, auditable workflows, clean APIs, and resilient failure recovery. Build and operate secure, scalable backend APIs and platform services for ticketing, citations, violations, and payments. Improve system tenancy and isolation, make pragmatic architectural trade-offs, respond to production incidents, improve reliability, and partner with Product. Mentor engineers, document technical decisions, and maintain high standards for design and execution.

Develop and improve computer vision models for object detection and multi-object tracking in real-world traffic environments. Own data strategy, experimentation, evaluation, reproducible training pipelines, model deployment validation, and continuous improvement. Optimize models for edge devices while balancing accuracy, latency, memory, and power constraints. Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentoring, and production-readiness standards.

Supports state and local legislative and regulatory campaigns across multiple jurisdictions. Responsibilities include tracking policy developments, building relationships with officials and coalition partners, coordinating lobbyists and consultants, drafting briefing materials and testimony, representing the company at public meetings, and maintaining campaign and stakeholder tracking systems. Requires government relations experience, legislative campaign execution, strong communication, organization, autonomy, and willingness to travel.

Own the transition from outsourced to in-house accounting, including system implementation, chart of accounts design, close, reconciliations, AP, AR, payroll, revenue recognition, financial reporting, internal controls, audit preparation, and multi-jurisdiction tax compliance. Partner with Finance, Sales, and Operations on municipal contracts, revenue-share arrangements, unit economics, and investor reporting while building scalable accounting processes.

Own the full sales cycle for Obvio’s AI-assisted traffic enforcement solutions across a national territory. Sell to state and local government agencies, navigate complex procurement and buying committees, build customer business cases, support pilots, and develop executive relationships. The role also contributes to sales playbooks, messaging, forecasting, pipeline management, and go-to-market processes while collaborating with product, engineering, marketing, and leadership.

Reviews and annotates video footage to identify traffic events and potential violations, verifies detailed incident data, follows strict confidentiality protocols, and provides feedback to improve annotation tools and processes. The role requires careful attention to detail, accurate data review, timely completion of work, and collaboration in training and team meetings. This is a full-time, on-site position in Salt Lake City with occasional overtime.

Lead design and optimization of embedded software for AI traffic cameras: architect real-time inference pipelines, optimize C++ for power-constrained edge hardware, integrate sensors/comms/power systems, build testing/debugging frameworks, ensure field reliability, and mentor engineers across teams.
