Assist the Chief Engineer with engine-room maintenance, greasing, and repairs on catcher-processor vessels. Perform fish-processing support shifts, follow safety and LOCKOUT/TAGOUT procedures, respond to technical issues and emergencies, and work long offshore rotations in remote, harsh conditions.

Direct and oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of vessel systems (engines, generators, refrigeration, hydraulics, electrical, pumps, conveyor systems). Maintain logs, inventory, fuel and refrigerant transfers, enforce safety/lockout procedures, train engineering crew, coordinate shipyard projects, and respond to technical emergencies while working extended shifts at sea in remote conditions.

Serve as vessel Mate: stand bridge watch, supervise deck crew and vessel operations, manage fishing and transfer activities, maintain logs/reports, lead safety drills and medical/emergency response, inspect storage and equipment, and perform deckhand duties as needed while operating in remote, austere maritime environments.

Assist the Chief Engineer in operating, maintaining, and repairing vessel systems (diesel engines, generators, refrigeration, electrical, hydraulic, pumps, conveyors). Help with fuel transfers, inventory control, logs and regulatory reporting, safety oversight, LOCK OUT-TAG procedures, and emergency direction. May work in the factory processing fish up to eight hours per shift and perform physically demanding, long-duration at-sea duties in remote locations.

Process and move raw fish through factory stations aboard remote fishing vessels: sort, cut, gut, pack, freeze, bag and stack fish, operate conveyors and plate freezers, perform offload/backload, clean equipment, and follow safety procedures while living and working long shifts in austere, cold, and wet maritime conditions.
