Work aboard a fishing vessel processing fish: sort, cut, gut, pack, freeze, bag, label, stack, offload and clean. Operate conveyors and plate freezers, learn species identification, follow safety procedures, work long arduous shifts in remote Alaskan conditions, and live aboard the vessel for the season.

Assist the Chief Engineer in operating, maintaining, and repairing vessel systems (diesel engines, generators, refrigeration, electrical, hydraulic, pumps, conveyors). Help with fuel transfers, inventory control, logs and regulatory reporting, safety oversight, LOCK OUT-TAG procedures, and emergency direction. May work in the factory processing fish up to eight hours per shift and perform physically demanding, long-duration at-sea duties in remote locations.
