The role also represents NYISO in industry forums and requires knowledge of power systems, commodity markets, regulatory structures, and statistical analysis.

Provide advanced technical expertise and lead engineering studies and modeling for grid transition to inverter-based resources and DERs. Perform EMTP/PSSE/PSCAD simulations, analyze frequency response, short-circuit strength, resonances and transient behavior, develop mitigation strategies, produce reports and NYISO procedures, coordinate with stakeholders and reliability organizations, and mentor team members.

Architects, administers, and secures large multi-site and cloud Microsoft and VMware environments. Leads design, implementation, patching, backup/recovery, automation, capacity planning, compliance (NERC CIP, SOC1), and 24x7 support. Mentors staff, produces technical documentation, and partners with vendors and business teams to ensure high availability and regulatory adherence.

Manage end-to-end procurement activities including developing sourcing and contracting strategies, processing purchase orders in Oracle Financials, using Workday Strategic Sourcing, managing vendors and RFP/RFQ/SOW documents, negotiating contract terms with Legal, producing procurement reports and analyses, training staff on procurement policies, and supporting continuous improvement and compliance efforts.

Design, develop, and maintain Python-based tools for power system simulation, data processing, and visualization. Integrate APIs and commercial analysis tools, implement CI/CD, automated testing, deployment, and monitoring. Use AI-augmented programming practices, mentor staff, ensure security compliance, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support on-call operations.

Lead the electric power system model and Smart-Grid applications for real-time analysis, supporting market operations and ensuring system integrity through software development and collaboration across NYISO departments.

Design, develop, and maintain full-stack software for NYISO reliability applications. Lead architecture, mentor engineers, create designs/tests, tune databases, support 24x7 production, ensure security best practices, collaborate with stakeholders and vendors, and drive technology improvements.

Support and maintain power system models, EMS/BMS and PMU applications; develop and test Smart-Grid and market software (SCUC, Unit Commitment, MIP); provide operator support, testing (FAT/SAT/regression), documentation, and stakeholder technical support for market and network-model projects.

Perform daily and monthly general ledger reconciliations, prepare journal entries and financial schedules, process cash, AP and AR for market and planning activities, support audits, cross-train team members, respond to stakeholders, and assist with special projects and process improvements.
