Despite the busy deployment schedule, Connor appreciates the work-life balance she has with her team. “We have tools to maintain that balance, and I have had transparency meetings with my team when it gets out of sorts,” she said.

Christopher Butwell has been with Northern Trust for nearly 25 years. What compels him to stay? The culture helps, but the continuous opportunities to work with new technology means he never has to look elsewhere for fresh possibilities. Rather than working in an ivory tower, the architecture group functions as an application delivery partner that helps turn solutions into repeatable blueprints. The team focuses on jumpstarting new technologies and driving the digital transformation roadmap. “Trailblazing alongside application teams is the best part of my job,” he said.
