Provide naval architecture across concept, detailed design, build support and in-service projects. Provide hands-on first-line application support for PLM and CAD systems in an engineering and manufacturing environment. Own incidents and requests through resolution, diagnose issues, collaborate with central SMEs, support integrated ERP (SAP) environments, build relationships with engineering and production stakeholders, document support procedures, and participate in site digital transformation projects with occasional travel to other sites.

Lead operability and crewing strategy for naval ship design, converting CONOPS into user-centred requirements. Develop crewing models, run operational vignettes, champion crew-reduction through human-machine integration and digital technologies, support safety/regulatory compliance, contribute to trade studies, and engage stakeholders while mentoring junior engineers.

Lead commercial strategy for billion-pound defence and maritime bids, negotiate high-value contracts, set pricing and risk frameworks, ensure compliance (DEFCONs, SSPRs), collaborate with BD, engineering and supply chain, and support contract delivery post-award.

Lead and mature a multi-site Project Controls function delivering integrated cost, schedule, risk, EVMS and change control. Establish governance, produce executive reporting, manage forecasts/EACs, embed risk management and drive digital improvement across shipyards and delivery partners.

Lead UK and Northern Ireland tax matters: advise on direct/indirect tax, transfer pricing, compliance, audits, customs, risk management, and group alignment. Act as subject-matter expert and main liaison with tax authorities and international tax teams.

Create high-quality 3D models and 2D drawings in Siemens NX, produce arrangements, P&IDs and BOMs, manage design data in Teamcenter PLM, support design reviews, resolve interdisciplinary interfaces, and improve CAD standards and digital workflows for naval vessel projects.

Lead design, integration, and optimisation of electrical systems for naval vessels including HV/LV power generation and distribution, energy management, and sustainability. Provide technical leadership through design, build and in-service support, ensure regulatory compliance, mentor engineers, and engage with clients, suppliers and authorities.

Lead multidisciplinary naval ship design programmes: define scopes, manage subcontractors and resourcing, build schedules and cost estimates, maintain risk registers, ensure regulatory and quality compliance, engage stakeholders, support bids, and manage technical project managers to deliver on time and budget.

Provide commercial and contract management support for complex defence and maritime bids and ongoing programmes. Lead commercial negotiations with customers and suppliers, support supply chain on NDAs and T&Cs, contribute to bid strategy, financial oversight, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement to ensure profitable, compliant contract delivery.

Produce accurate 2D/3D fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings for heavy engineering projects; ensure constructability, compliance with standards, prepare BOMs, support fabrication/installation, maintain document control, and improve drafting processes while collaborating with engineers and site teams.
