Supports communications and community-building efforts for Audubon’s South Carolina programs. Responsibilities include creating and distributing content, producing stories, managing social media and web channels, supporting earned media and advocacy campaigns, coordinating event communications, managing media lists, and tracking communications metrics. The role also supports outreach materials, photography and video efforts, and collaboration with program and policy staff.

Manages the full grant lifecycle, including proposal budgeting, award setup, financial tracking, reporting, compliance, subawards, invoicing, and closeout. The role collaborates with program, finance, accounting, and leadership teams; monitors expenditures, revenue, match, and grant alignment; prepares status reports; maintains grant documentation; and ensures compliance with Uniform Guidance, applicable regulations, and funder requirements.

Provides pre- and post-award grant administration, including proposal budgeting, financial tracking, reporting, compliance, invoicing, subaward processing, and grant closeout. Leads strategic, executive, internal, and external communications for Audubon's conservation mission. Develops speeches, talking points, statements, op-eds, briefing materials, messaging, communication plans, and change-management strategies. Partners with senior leaders and conservation teams, manages sensitive communications, supports thought leadership and media opportunities, translates complex issues into compelling narratives, and ensures consistent enterprise messaging. The role is hybrid and requires occasional domestic and international travel.

The Director will lead Audubon's water conservation strategy for the Mississippi River, overseeing projects, managing partnerships, and engaging in policy efforts. Responsibilities include developing strategies for habitat protection, building coalitions, securing funding, and acting as a spokesperson for conservation initiatives.

Manage accounting and compliance for a portfolio of domestic and international grants, prepare reports and variance analyses, support audits and NICRA preparation, maintain grant budgets and receivables, train finance staff, and partner with program teams to ensure GAAP and Uniform Guidance compliance.

Lead and manage IT security operations including incident response, security tool administration, vulnerability management, IAM (IdP/MFA/SSO), security policy and compliance (ISO 27000, PCI), security awareness training, vendor security reviews, and coordination with cloud and network teams to protect systems and data.

Provide on-site administrative and financial operations support for Audubon Great Plains, including gift processing, AP/AR, contract administration, grant assistance, event and travel logistics, donor record updates in Salesforce, office management, vendor coordination, and support for board meetings and program reporting.

Lead development and implementation of nature-based habitat and resilience projects across the Mississippi River basin. Coordinate partners, conduct site selection and visits, manage projects and grants, develop funding proposals, engage stakeholders and landowners, synthesize technical information for diverse audiences, and support program goals and safety. Hybrid role with regional focus (Mississippi Alluvial Valley and Quad Cities) and travel about 15-20%.

Lead science data and knowledge management at Audubon, enhancing data accessibility and usage across various scientific programs while collaborating with IT and Conservation Teams.

Lead and grow Audubon’s major and principal giving program: manage a high-value donor portfolio ($2M–$5M annually), close six- and seven-figure gifts, supervise and coach frontline fundraisers, engage board and executive leadership, and develop multi-year fundraising initiatives aligned with the strategic plan.

Lead and grow Audubon’s Salton Sea program through science-based habitat restoration, advocacy, community engagement, staff supervision, fundraising/grant management, and coordination with partners and policy teams. Oversee project design, bird monitoring, outreach, and represent the program to stakeholders and public officials.
