Leads strategic, executive, internal, and external communications for Audubon's conservation mission. Develops speeches, talking points, statements, op-eds, briefing materials, messaging, communication plans, and change-management strategies. Partners with senior leaders and conservation teams, manages sensitive communications, supports thought leadership and media opportunities, translates complex issues into compelling narratives, and ensures consistent enterprise messaging. The role is hybrid and requires occasional domestic and international travel.

Supports Audubon’s Conservation Ranching Program through outreach event coordination, communications, social media, stakeholder meetings, data collection, surveys, reporting, and field site visits. The intern gains experience in bird conservation, rangeland management, regenerative agriculture, community engagement, teaching, and curriculum development. The hybrid role involves frequent travel to the Sacramento office, occasional travel throughout California, and potential outdoor work in variable conditions and rugged terrain.

The Urban Conservation Intern supports urban tree planting, habitat restoration, avian conservation science, and community engagement across New Orleans and surrounding regions. Responsibilities include planting and maintaining native trees, removing invasive species, collecting ecological data through community science programs, educating volunteers and communities, supporting outreach events, and contributing to project reporting, budgeting, procurement, and communications. The role is primarily on-site and involves sustained outdoor work in varied conditions.
