The Infrastructure Engineer will build and enhance cloud infrastructure for NALA, ensuring high availability and security, improving developer experience and incident response, while collaborating with engineering teams on new services and platform improvements.

Lead complex financial crime investigations across products and jurisdictions, including suspicious activity reviews, SARs, transaction analysis, LEA requests, and regulatory responses. Maintain auditable compliance procedures, support AML and sanctions controls, refine risk typologies, and train or mentor compliance investigators. The role also supports regulatory exams, internal audits, partner reviews, and ad hoc initiatives for the Head of Compliance and MLRO.

Own NALA’s Nigeria market strategy and execution across customer, competitor, regulatory, partner, and route-performance intelligence. Manage relationships and negotiations with banks, fintechs, mobile money operators, and payment providers. Coordinate roadmap execution with product, compliance, legal, and operations teams; monitor volumes, revenue, costs, and reliability; identify risks and opportunities; and provide actionable recommendations to regional leadership.

Own NALA’s visual identity across website, social, paid advertising, CRM, video, print, and campaign assets. Develop on-brand product launch narratives, adapt creative for African and Asian markets, direct video production, create illustrations and 3D assets, and iterate performance creative across multiple markets. The role requires fast execution, strong social fluency, data-informed creative decisions, brand consistency, and collaboration across teams.

Own high-stakes cross-functional operations programmes across licensing, payments infrastructure, stablecoin rails, cash management, and entity operations. Drive EU licensing, launch Rafiki virtual accounts, improve cash movement, prioritize the operations portfolio, analyze root causes using SQL, and align senior stakeholders across Product, Compliance, Finance, Treasury, Nairobi, and India. The role emphasizes execution, measurable outcomes, process ownership, and operational improvements in a regulated payments environment.

Lead and scale NALA's global compliance and enterprise risk function across AML/CTF, sanctions, licensing, regulatory reporting, financial crime and fraud controls; build and hire a team, manage regulatory relationships, run risk framework and committees, own M&A-related compliance, and ensure audit and licence readiness across multiple jurisdictions.

Lead Rafiki's FX commercial strategy and market-making for frontier markets. Own P&L, design hedging strategies, work with Product/Engineering to automate pricing and trading workflows, manage liquidity relationships, and provide market intelligence to shape product and client execution.

Own and uplift the data transformation layer (dbt + Snowflake), maintain streaming pipelines (Kafka), enforce CI/CD, testing and documentation, optimise warehouse performance and cost, deploy AI-assisted/autonomous agents, and mentor analysts while owning the transformation infrastructure roadmap.

Run the London office day-to-day (facilities, vendors, supplies, H&S, front-of-house). Own culture and employee experience — socials, onboarding, events, and first-week experiences. Maintain People systems (HiBob), benefits and perks, answer everyday employee queries, support People team projects, and provide auxiliary support to executive leadership.

Investigate false-positives and confirmed fraud, classify fraud typologies, produce evidence-backed case packs, propose and validate rule changes, and respond to fraud incidents. Use SQL-driven analysis and AI-augmented tools to triage cases, measure customer impact, and collaborate with fraud and data teams to reduce friction without increasing fraud risk.

Design, own, and scale NALA's EU AML/CFT program (policies, controls, governance). Act as designated AMLCO, manage regulatory relationships, oversee transaction monitoring/sanctions/PEP systems, lead SAR/STR reporting, and prepare the company for AMLA and EU passporting.

Lead the AML/CFT compliance framework for Belgium, ensuring compliance with regulations while supporting safe growth in international remittances. Oversee investigations, act as a liaison with regulators, and provide strategic advice on compliance-related matters.
