The Discovery Officer manages a portfolio of approximately 500 alumni and constituents through personalized outreach across email, phone, text, social media, and video. The position requires a PhD or ABD status and demonstrated undergraduate teaching experience.

Leads Mount Holyoke College’s alum experience strategy, signature events, Reunion, volunteer programs, budgets, and cross-functional partnerships. Supervises professional staff and student teams, manages alum volunteers, evaluates program outcomes using KPIs, and drives engagement and philanthropic participation. The role requires strategic event leadership, complex project management, stakeholder communication, volunteer development, and operational oversight across a global alum community.

Responsibilities include teaching Italian language, culture, and literature in Italian and English; maintaining an active research program; mentoring diverse undergraduates; advising honors and independent research; and contributing to interdisciplinary Five College collaborations. Candidates need specialization in Medieval, Renaissance, and/or Early Modern Studies, strong teaching and research records, and a PhD or ABD status.
