Leads and mentors a research software engineering team developing and integrating the Pelican Platform. Oversees technical roadmaps, project delivery, software quality, distributed systems architecture, CI/CD, code review, and development workflows. Translates research goals into software requirements, coordinates with integration and operations teams, communicates with external cyberinfrastructure partners, and supports modern engineering practices across research computing projects.

Manages a portfolio of individual donors and prospects for the Morgridge Institute for Research. Responsibilities include cultivating relationships, soliciting annual, major, multi-year, and estate gifts, identifying and qualifying prospects, stewarding donors, maintaining Salesforce records, and supporting fundraising strategies. The role requires communicating scientific and biomedical research information, developing proposals and presentations, coordinating with institute leaders, and traveling outside Madison approximately 4–6 times annually.

Conducts regenerative biology research using zebrafish and occasional mice. Responsibilities include molecular biology, DNA construct preparation, zebrafish breeding and genotyping, microinjection, histology, tissue staining, microscopy, imaging, data analysis, documentation, laboratory preparation, and assisting with personnel training. A bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field is required; laboratory research experience is preferred. Training is provided.

Provides administrative and operational support for a university research laboratory and metabolism research theme. Responsibilities include coordinating research budgets and grant materials, processing expenses and purchases, managing equipment and vendor services, tracking publications and compliance, supporting onboarding, agreements, events, communications, and personnel workflows. The role requires strong organization, communication, time management, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Develop and support distributed systems software for scientific research and cyberinfrastructure projects. Responsibilities include scoping and architecting solutions with research leaders, implementing robust functionality primarily in Go, Python, or C++, debugging and deploying distributed systems, writing design documents, using project and software development tools, and potentially leading student interns. The role supports large-scale computing environments, including thousands of cores, GPUs, batch systems, and cloud infrastructure.

Conduct research on metabolic regulation of macrophages and neutrophils during immune activation. Design experiments using cellular, molecular, biochemical, genome-editing, metabolomics, isotopic-tracing, immune-profiling, and transcriptomic methods. Analyze and interpret data, prepare manuscripts and presentations, collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers, and potentially mentor junior trainees. A Ph.D. in a relevant biological science, immunology and cell-metabolism expertise, scholarly publications, and strong communication and teamwork skills are required or preferred.
