Leads the History and Social Sciences department at a community college, overseeing curriculum, learning outcomes, faculty and staff hiring, supervision, budgets, grants, faculty development, student success initiatives, and committee participation. The Chairperson collaborates with faculty and college leadership to strengthen academic programs, support instructional quality, and advance departmental and institutional priorities.

Provides strategic and operational leadership for total rewards and employee development within the College’s Human Resources office. Oversees benefits, compensation, talent acquisition, onboarding, HRIS, performance management, training, and employee lifecycle processes. Supervises HR staff and pension administration, ensures compliance with employment laws and collective bargaining agreements, manages vendors and benefits programs, and supports HR operations in the Executive Director’s absence.

Recruits prospective students for the EOF/TRIO programs through presentations, college fairs, school visits, community events, and digital outreach. Maintains communication and recruitment records in CRM systems, assists students with applications and enrollment requirements, follows up on missing documentation, schedules interviews, prepares activity reports, and supports recruitment events. The role requires a bachelor’s degree, recruitment experience, strong communication skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, a driver’s license, and local travel.

Oversees maintenance operations for buildings and infrastructure, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance while supervising staff and managing resources.

The Academic Advisor provides holistic advising, communicates with students, assists with program completion, and coordinates information sessions.
