Inspects, maintains, repairs, sharpens, profiles, and replaces saws and cutting tools used in sawmill production. Sets up chip heads on quad and gang edgers, maintains machine centers, pours and cuts babbitt guides, and keeps filing rooms and production areas clean. The role requires safe operation around moving machinery, loud noise, weather, and hazardous conditions, along with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.

Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs sawmill machinery and material-conveying equipment. Performs preventive maintenance, lubrication, welding, fabrication, rigging, alignment, belt and chain adjustments, and hydraulic, pneumatic, bearing, and power-transmission repairs. Follows lockout/tagout, hot-work, confined-space, OSHA, and equipment-restart procedures. Works independently, identifies potential failures, communicates with coworkers, and provides technical direction to other millwrights when needed.

Maintains sawmill production areas by removing sawdust, wood chips, bark, scrap lumber, and garbage. Operates chainsaws, hand tools, Bobcats, forklifts, and conveyors to process and transport debris. Supports lumber handling and other sawmill activities while following safety procedures. The role requires physical labor, lifting up to 100 pounds, working around machinery and elevated areas, using PPE, and being willing to work multiple shifts.

Manages production operations for a pressure-treating plant, including employee supervision, staffing, production scheduling, inventory control, safety and environmental compliance, quality assurance, process improvement, budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight, and issue resolution. The role coordinates with distribution and purchasing teams, develops employees, implements operational changes, and supports continuous improvement while maintaining a safe, productive work environment.

Provides administrative and operational support to the sales team, including reviewing and entering sales orders, maintaining customer records, tracking deliveries, preparing reports, coordinating meetings, travel, events, supplies, and equipment maintenance. Acts as a liaison among customers, sales representatives, and internal departments, addressing order issues and customer concerns. The role is onsite, requires regular attendance, and involves occasional business travel and vehicle use for events, meetings, and errands.

Manages all treating plant operations, including production, inventory, quality control, maintenance, shipping, safety, environmental compliance, and personnel. Directs pressure-treatment processes, audits QC procedures against AWPA standards, analyzes production and financial data, establishes maintenance and performance programs, and coordinates with sales, transportation, and purchasing. Supervises hiring, training, coaching, and performance management while ensuring safe, efficient, compliant, and customer-focused operations. Local travel within 100 miles may reach 10% of working time.

Conduct outbound calls to existing and prospective customers, secure orders, grow product mix, establish new accounts, monitor market and pricing trends, analyze sales and SKU data, support inventory ordering, resolve complaints, facilitate product events, and provide administrative support and activity reports to the outside sales team.

Performs commercial forest management under a Registered Professional Forester, including logging and road contract administration, road inventories, Timber Harvest Plan preparation, watercourse classification, unstable-area mapping, timber marking and cruising, and prescribed burning. The role involves extensive outdoor fieldwork in rugged terrain and adverse weather, operation of forestry tools and vehicles, local travel, and coordination with the RPF and Forest Manager.
