Develop and maintain backend applications throughout the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities include troubleshooting production issues, creating RESTful APIs, conducting code reviews, documenting solutions, improving development practices, mentoring junior developers, and supporting continuous innovation. The role requires managing complex on-premises monolithic systems, Windows Services, databases, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and scheduled 24/7 on-call support.

Leads multiple software engineering teams, manages people development and Agile Scrum delivery, and oversees project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, quality, and stakeholder communication. Partners with product owners and architects to deliver scalable software. Drives adoption of AI-assisted development tools across the software development lifecycle, establishes responsible-use guidelines, and upskills engineers. Experience with iGaming aggregation, B2B clients, and bespoke operator frontends is advantageous.

Lead and coordinate automated testing standards and implementations across business units for a web microservices environment. Design unified test strategies, oversee test infrastructure and reporting, drive adoption of automated functional, regression, performance and load tests, mentor teams, and ensure consistent high-quality software delivery.

Implement and maintain APM solutions, build dashboards and alerts, analyse performance data to find bottlenecks, collaborate with SRE and infrastructure teams, run incident response and performance testing, deploy/configure APM agents, document best practices, and resolve support requests.

Design, develop, and optimise T‑SQL database solutions for high‑volume, business‑critical systems. Author and review stored procedures, functions, triggers and indexes; analyse execution plans and resolve performance bottlenecks. Support developers and DBAs, contribute to data modelling, retention policies, and production incident resolution while improving database development standards.
