Software Developer Interns collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, debug, and document web, internal, and mobile applications. They participate in code reviews, improve coding practices, and contribute to real-world software projects while learning modern technologies. The role requires on-site work near Freeport, Maine, 32–36 hours weekly from June 1 through July 31, 2027.

Supports the Talent Acquisition team with recruitment-cycle activities, resume screening, interview scheduling, sourcing, recruitment metrics, and administrative tasks. Builds relationships with colleges and professional organizations while coordinating events, meetings, and activities for the 2027 intern class. The intern also supports compliance, cross-training, and a high-visibility group project. This is a 12-week, in-person internship near Freeport, Maine, requiring 32–36 hours weekly.

Assists with software testing by developing and executing test cases, performing manual functional and regression testing, documenting defects, retesting fixes, and maintaining testing records. Collaborates with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and improve testing processes. The intern may also gain exposure to test automation while supporting software quality and user experience improvements.

Supports L.L.Bean’s Domestic Wholesale team through marketing operations, competitive benchmarking, retail and wholesale research, data visualization, presentation development, and process improvement. The intern analyzes market trends, competitors, and industry best practices, supports wholesale partners, develops marketing materials, and presents project findings. This is a 9-week, in-office summer internship requiring collaboration, organization, analytical thinking, and interest in retail, consumer brands, marketing, merchandising, and the outdoor industry.

Supports the Hardgoods Design team in developing outdoor gear across apparel, equipment, luggage, bags, and backpacks. Responsibilities include researching trends, creating sketches, renderings, prototypes, color-ups, tech packs, BOM data, and product presentations using Adobe Illustrator and FlexPLM. Collaborates with product development, merchandising, sourcing, graphics, colorists, vendors, and testing teams to refine and commercialize products while balancing aesthetics, functionality, cost, quality, and manufacturability.

Designs seasonal footwear across boots, active, slippers, and casual categories. Translates trends into brand-right concepts through sketches, renderings, prototypes, color and material direction, and detailed tech packs. Collaborates with product development, sourcing, vendors, and international partners to refine and commercialize products. Conducts market research, wear testing, and competitive analysis while managing multiple projects, milestones, costs, and manufacturability. Creates BOMs and presentation materials using Adobe Illustrator, Mural, and Flex PLM.

Designs and delivers end-to-end enterprise data solutions on a GCP-native platform, covering ingestion, transformation, modeling, security, quality, and analytics consumption. Defines data mappings, dimensional models, and platform patterns; selects GCP services; guides engineers; reviews implementations; and translates business requirements into executable designs. The role also produces architecture documentation, supports modernization and EDW migration, collaborates across technical and business teams, and contributes to AI-ready data products and Agile delivery practices.

Supports state and local tax compliance, including sales and use tax, property tax, federal excise tax, and income tax activities. Prepares returns, workpapers, reconciliations, registrations, and audit documentation; researches tax requirements; tests tax systems; monitors deadlines; and recommends process and control improvements. Partners with business teams and tax management while maintaining accurate, review-ready records.
