Supervising Attorney will lead Prisoners' Rights Project litigation and policy work, maintain an active caseload, direct legislative and administrative advocacy, supervise and develop staff, coordinate with pro bono and internal partners, manage unit operations, and conduct community education and outreach to advance systemic reforms for incarcerated people.

The Supervising Attorney will manage client representation in federal immigration cases, train staff, oversee legal strategies, and collaborate on national litigation efforts while maintaining high standards of legal service.

This internship involves engaging in Legal Aid's law reform work, including legal and factual research, client interviews, and contributing to legal documentation and policy reform efforts.

Coordinate community engagement and advocacy for criminal justice policy campaigns: organize advocacy days, build coalitions, schedule meetings with elected officials, attend community board hearings, develop educational materials, collect feedback from people served, and provide testimony and outreach in partnership with the Law Reform and Community Justice teams.

One-year Temporary Staff Attorney to represent homeowners in foreclosure and related state and federal litigation and advocacy. Duties include defensive and affirmative litigation, settlement conferences, client intake (including some evenings/weekends), community outreach and training, coalition and policy advocacy, working with pro bono partners, administrative tasks, and occasional NYS travel for meetings.

Support employee relations by conducting investigations into policy violations, managing employee cases, coaching managers on performance and disciplinary actions, facilitating ADA accommodation requests, and collaborating with HR and legal teams to resolve conflicts and improve workplace relations. May provide trainings and participate in professional development.

The Pro Bono Scholars Program offers final-year law students the opportunity to engage in full-time pro bono service while completing their academic requirements.

The Director of Special Litigation will manage a team, implement litigation strategies, and direct advocacy efforts to address systemic injustices in the criminal justice system. Responsibilities include leading litigation work, collaborating with public defenders, and engaging in coalition building for policy reform.

The Staff Attorney will develop and conduct federal litigation, assist with class action lawsuits, provide consultation, and train staff on federal court issues for non-citizens.

Provide immigration representation for children (0-21) in family court matters: represent clients before USCIS and immigration courts, screen cases for relief (SIJS, asylum, T/U visas), draft motions and supporting evidence, conduct investigations and interviews, train and consult JRP staff, mentor trial attorneys on SIJS predicate orders, and manage caseloads within an interdisciplinary team.

Support Accounting Manager by overseeing day-to-day accounting: review general ledger, prepare GAAP financial statements, perform monthly reconciliations, manage endowment/investment accounting, participate in month-end close, prepare audit and Form 990 schedules, assist cash flow analysis, document procedures, and support process improvements and team collaboration.

Supervising Attorney will coordinate and supervise the Immigrant Opportunity Initiatives program, mentor and train attorneys and staff, provide legal oversight and strategy for non-detained removal defense and affirmative immigration matters, advise on appeals and federal litigation, manage caseloads, assist with program development, funding, reporting, and engage in policy advocacy.
