Develop and validate thermal and thermo-mechanical simulations for advanced laser products. Design thermal management solutions, support solder attach and wire bond processes, qualify epoxies and adhesives, and conduct failure analysis. Define validation testing, support manufacturing scale-up, analyze reliability data, and collaborate with electrical, materials, manufacturing, and reliability teams to improve product performance and manufacturability.

Designs, models, prototypes, validates, and optimizes optical systems for laser and LED products. Responsibilities include optical simulation, beam shaping, tolerance analysis, DFM, package integration, testing, failure analysis, supplier collaboration, and supporting products from concept through high-volume manufacturing.

Develop and optimize GaN epitaxial deposition processes using MOCVD. Plan experiments, analyze metrology data, improve process control and yield, and collaborate with chip fabrication teams on epitaxy and chip-design co-optimization. The role also supports quality systems, new product introduction, and high-volume manufacturing process development.

Design, develop, integrate, and refine laser diode fabrication processes for novel devices and production improvements. Investigate techniques to improve performance, reliability, and yield; create work instructions; train technicians; implement SPC; procure and commission wafer-fab equipment; optimize tools on the fab floor; analyze process data; and support quality programs, audits, and certifications.

Leads epitaxy manufacturing and engineering across Goleta and Fremont operations for GaN laser products. Oversees epitaxial technology development, capacity planning, reactor allocation, production execution, budgeting, supplier interactions, and continuous improvement. Drives yield, cost, capacity, cycle-time, and product-performance improvements while providing hands-on technical guidance. Recruits, mentors, and develops engineering leaders and staff, manages complex projects, and ensures organizational goals, timelines, and production plans are achieved.

Drive new product introduction for GaN laser products by translating designs into manufacturable processes, optimizing process flows and controls, improving yield and uniformity, analyzing device performance with microscopy and statistical tools, documenting developments, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and reducing production costs. Collaborate with R&D, reliability, and failure-analysis teams to resolve technical challenges and deliver continuous process improvements.
