The position is based in person at the Torrance headquarters.

Handle, move, dispatch, receive, and track inventory and aerospace components between facilities and departments. Maintain material logs, perform cycle counts, reconcile inventory records, update ERP systems, and preserve traceability for serialized and lot-controlled items. Support shipping through packaging, pickups, and loading while safely operating material-handling equipment and company vehicles. The role requires careful handling of sensitive components, physical stamina, and flexibility for extended hours or weekends.

Build and operate platform capabilities for Amazon EKS, including multi-tenancy, namespace governance, workload scaling, ingress and egress controls, and observability. Develop documentation and diagnostics, support versioning and migrations, automate code deployment and testing policies, and improve platform adoption and resource lifecycle management. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver the enterprise information systems roadmap.

Define and negotiate spacecraft mission concepts, architectures, requirements, payload-to-bus interfaces, and concepts of operations. Lead early customer engagements, technical discussions, study reviews, and proposal activities. Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across avionics, software, propulsion, thermal, vehicle engineering, and integration, assembly, and testing to develop executable solutions for national security missions.

The intern will own an end-to-end software project and support spacecraft on-orbit operations while collaborating with engineers and technicians.

Supports spacecraft vehicle build, integration, testing, and manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include maintaining HITL tables, developing test procedures, troubleshooting vehicle issues, designing ground support equipment and tooling, improving manufacturing processes, creating MES-integrated tools, demonstrating prototype manufacturing techniques, developing production build flows, and integrating flight hardware. The internship provides hands-on exposure to satellite structures, mechanisms, electronics, testing, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Design and develop spacecraft electronics ranging from PCBAs to full systems, including power, digital, and mixed-signal designs. Responsibilities include component selection, circuit board design, board bring-up, debugging, environmental qualification testing, spacecraft integration, test equipment development, and test-script creation. The intern will collaborate with engineers, technicians, managers, and external stakeholders during a three-month internship.

Support analysis, design, testing, measurement, and qualification of RF and microwave hardware for spacecraft. Operate antenna measurement systems, conduct environmental testing, perform development and production tests, and collaborate with engineers, technicians, managers, customers, and other stakeholders to integrate RF work into satellite systems.

Develop spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for attitude and orbit control. The intern will own a mentored project, apply engineering knowledge to spacecraft hardware, and collaborate with technicians, engineers, and managers. This is a 12-week, in-person internship at K2 Space headquarters in Torrance.

Three-month, in-person Mechanical Engineering Internship developing complex spacecraft structures and mechanisms. Responsibilities include designing, analyzing, testing, and building mechanical systems; performing hand calculations and computational analyses; conducting development tests; supporting hardware trade studies; and owning a mission-impacting project with mentorship. Candidates must be enrolled in an engineering degree program and have at least six months of technical engineering experience outside the classroom. CAD experience and mechanical hardware project experience are preferred.

Manage advanced payload integration across the spacecraft lifecycle, from proposals and design through testing, launch, and on-orbit commissioning. Serve as the primary customer and partner interface, define and negotiate mechanical, electrical, software, power, and mission interfaces, and lead verification, validation, and sell-off activities. Coordinate vehicle engineering, avionics, software, propulsion, thermal, and integration teams while improving payload engineering processes and mentoring team members.

Design, analyze, build, align, test, and qualify precision optomechanical assemblies for satellite optical payloads. Responsibilities include lens and mirror mounting, optical alignment and stability budgets, structural and thermal analysis, vibration and thermal-vacuum testing, design reviews, hardware iteration, and production support. The role collaborates across optical, thermal, structures, GNC, metrology, and manufacturing teams to deliver flight-qualified hardware for space missions.

Build and evolve developer platforms and golden-path deployment patterns on Amazon EKS. Establish secure AI development guardrails, observability, governance, resilient traffic management, automated policies, and progressive delivery. Optimize platform performance and cost, improve reliability and MTTR, maintain documentation and diagnostics, steward software lifecycles, and mentor engineers while advancing the developer experience roadmap.

Own compensation and equity strategy, including benchmarking, pay frameworks, offer reviews, merit and promotion recommendations, Carta equity administration, and equity modeling. Build workforce dashboards and analytics for leadership, maintain HR data integrity, and support workforce planning. Lead responsible AI tool adoption across People Operations and provide compensation and workforce analyses for executives, board materials, and investors.

Own spacecraft and constellation hardware reliability strategies, requirements, models, allocations, and testing programs. Lead HALT/HASS, accelerated life testing, reliability growth, statistical modeling, root-cause investigations, FRACAS, and corrective actions. Integrate test and flight telemetry data into reliability predictions, flow down requirements, advise leadership on risk trade-offs, and mentor reliability engineers. Partner with design, systems, test, and manufacturing teams to improve robustness and support high-volume satellite production.

Leads spacecraft dynamics analysis and testing across transportation, launch, deployment, and on-orbit environments. Develops finite element, time- and frequency-domain models, simulation software, coupled loads analyses, vibroacoustic models, jitter and pointing analyses, and modal test methodologies. Owns qualification and acceptance testing, model correlation, loads and environment derivation, technical documentation, and shared analysis tooling. Provides technical direction, mentors engineers, and delivers data-driven guidance for reliable, mass-producible spacecraft.

Supports strategic communications and government relations in Washington, DC. Responsibilities include media support, campaign planning, content creation, briefing materials, legislative and news monitoring, stakeholder coordination, event execution, speaking opportunity management, association memberships, CRM administration, and operational support. The role requires collaboration with communications and congressional affairs leaders and occasional travel to company headquarters and other locations.
