Assists the Senior Legal Officer with prison-based legal clinics, office management, paralegal mentorship, legal research, client support, court-document filing, registry searches, stakeholder engagement, reporting, finance accountability, and departmental administration. Leads legal practice delivery in Uganda, supervising legal officers, paralegals, and court clerks. Responsibilities include case management, court representation, legal document preparation, client counseling, staff training, policy implementation, donor-funded project management, research, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and frequent prison-site visits. The role requires criminal law expertise, program leadership, team management, advocacy, strong communication, and commitment to supporting prisoners’ access to justice.

Oversee finance, HR, and operational functions for the Uganda country office. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, payroll, recruitment, employee relations, procurement, administration, IT systems, risk management, and process improvement. The role coordinates cross-functional teams, strengthens internal controls, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports strategic planning and organizational efficiency.
