Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates recreation programs, camps, and events for older adults and other age groups. The role requires strong communication, organization, customer service, presentation, and leadership skills, along with occasional operation of a 14-passenger vehicle.

Coordinates aquatic facility operations, staffing, programming, budgets, marketing, and community partnerships. Supervises and trains seasonal employees, conducts lifeguard certification courses, manages program fees and expenses, supports facility leadership, and serves as the aquatics point person when managers are absent. The role requires variable scheduling, local travel, exposure to chemicals and extreme temperatures, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Officiate scheduled youth basketball games for the Johnson County Park and Recreation District, applying basketball rules, making impartial calls, discussing questionable calls tactfully with other referees, attending required training, and using rule books and officiating resources. Games are held during evening hours, and training is provided as needed. Compensation is $25 per game.

Performs in educational theater productions that tour schools throughout the year. Responsibilities include rehearsing, memorizing and perfecting productions, delivering pre-engagement lessons, leading post-show student activities, and assisting with load-in and load-out. An audition and reference/background screening are required.

Facilitates educational programs for school and public audiences, leads museum tours, supports camps and special events, and provides visitor services. Assists with Saturday front desk operations, customer service, point-of-sale transactions, and cash handling. Performs costumed interpretation as a 1904 schoolteacher at a historic site and works with children and diverse audiences.

Provides individualized nutrition assessments, meal plans, dietary guidance, and wellness education for diverse participants. Collaborates with community center staff, maintains consultation records, follows up on recommendations, and stays current with nutrition and dietetics practices. The role requires an RD or RDN credential, CPR certification, strong communication skills, initiative, and experience working with older adults and multiple participants.

Performs evening closing duties at museum galleries, including cleaning and resetting KidScape, interactives, and display cases, removing trash, and occasionally setting up or tearing down after-hours events. The role averages 6–8 hours weekly, primarily Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings. Candidates must be at least 16, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.

Supervise operations at a multi-field sports complex, monitoring leagues, practices, and tournaments; greeting patrons; opening and closing the facility; enforcing park policies; assisting with event setup and teardown; completing incident reports and paperwork; and coordinating with staff. The role requires customer service, leadership, initiative, and flexible evening and weekend availability in an outdoor sports environment.

Provides on-call substitute coverage for before- and after-school programs. Leads games, sports, and arts activities; actively supervises school-age children; ensures participant safety and well-being; and communicates effectively with parents, children, supervisors, and coworkers across various program sites.
