Leads backend technology strategy and architecture for JSTOR’s Books and royalty payment platforms. Designs and operates distributed services, APIs, data pipelines, fulfillment systems, and financial integrations using modern cloud-native technologies. Drives reliability, observability, scalability, reconciliation, and platform evolution while remaining hands-on. Influences architecture across teams, mentors engineers and technical leaders, establishes engineering standards, and aligns technical investments with product and business goals.

Lead the design, development, and operation of internal developer platforms, CI/CD tooling, automation, backend services, and web applications. Improve developer experience, delivery velocity, reliability, security, and operational efficiency. Collaborate across engineering teams, shape platform roadmaps, mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, manage incidents, and optimize system performance, availability, capacity, cost, and technical debt.

Own and strategically evolve ITHAKA’s finance systems, including ERP, accounts payable, planning, forecasting, and tax platforms. Lead configuration, integrations, access, data governance, controls, troubleshooting, vendor relationships, and upgrades. Identify and implement process improvements and automation, develop business cases, influence stakeholders, and drive finance systems projects from problem definition through adoption while supporting audit readiness and organizational change.
