Represents the Howard County Public School System in special education mediation, resolution sessions, due process hearings, and other administrative matters. Provides legal advice on IDEA, Section 504, ADA, IEP compliance, and education regulations; conducts legal research; drafts opinions, policies, briefs, and settlements; supports IEP teams; negotiates resolutions; and delivers professional development to school staff. May also handle student discipline, residency, and kindergarten admission matters.

Implements and maintains student grade reporting and master scheduling. Processes schedules, report cards, and interims; trains faculty on grading tools; resolves grade/data discrepancies; generates reports for school, state, and federal needs while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.

Coordinates an Allied sports program covering soccer, bowling, softball, and golf. Responsibilities include building schedules, communicating with coaches and partners, securing bowling and golf venues, ordering equipment, and organizing end-of-season championships. The role requires outdoor work, athletic equipment setup, and attendance at events outside regular contracted hours.

Provide visible campus security presence, monitor facilities and surveillance, de-escalate conflicts, investigate incidents, assist in emergency response and event security, and build positive student relationships to promote a safe, inclusive school climate.

Serve as a school-based liaison to accelerate academic achievement for Black/African American students by building relationships with families, monitoring academic and behavioral data, coordinating with staff and community partners, facilitating family engagement, and supporting equity-focused programs and services.

Provide advisor support, mentor student leadership teams, run professional learning for advisors, plan events and family engagement, collect and analyze scholar academic data, manage recruitment and evaluations, and collaborate with community partners and Delta Sigma Theta to support scholar academic, social-emotional, college and career readiness.

Provide full-time school nursing for special education students: perform assessments and complex nursing treatments (medications, suctioning, tube feedings, oxygen), emergency care, medication administration, documentation, care coordination, IEP/team participation, home visits as needed, liaise with families and staff, maintain licensure and certifications, and ensure health and safety during school and transportation.
