The role involves requirements gathering, scoping ambiguous analytics initiatives, maintaining dashboards, driving adoption, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve shared-services operations.

Draft, review, and negotiate reinsurance, program administration, claims, and related agreements. Identify wording and contractual risks, develop mitigation options, implement escalation processes, support compliant decision-making, and collaborate with underwriting teams, reinsurers, management, and other departments in a fast-paced insurance environment.

Analyzes reinsurance contracts, portfolio exposures, and reinsurer financial strength to support risk strategy and placement decisions. Coordinates with finance, underwriting, claims, corporate risk, CAT modeling, brokers, and program teams. Owns Hippo’s U.S. GAAP and statutory income tax provisions, disclosures, federal and multi-state compliance, insurance premium tax reporting, technical tax positions, SOX controls, and audit support. The role also supports R&D credit and Section 174 analyses, M&A tax diligence, process automation, and monitoring tax-law changes. It partners with accounting, finance, legal, auditors, advisors, and senior tax leadership in a publicly traded insurance environment.

Leads the Claims TPA business line, owning claims strategy, operating plans, performance reporting, technology requirements, service levels, licensing compliance, quality assurance, reserving, litigation strategy, and budgets. Builds and scales the claims organization by hiring and developing adjusters and supervisors, establishing workflows and quality standards, and partnering with product, client success, operations, and enterprise claims teams.
