Leads the design, development, integration, verification, and flight-test delivery of machine learning and autonomy capabilities for uncrewed aircraft. Responsibilities include perception, tracking, sensor fusion, planning, mission execution, model deployment, real-time C++ and Python software, simulation, testing, troubleshooting, and cross-functional system integration. Provides technical leadership and mentorship without direct personnel management. Requires on-site aircraft integration and field-test support in Bingen, Washington.

Develops and deploys machine learning and autonomy capabilities for uncrewed aircraft systems. Responsibilities include perception, tracking, sensor fusion, planning, mission-level decision-making, aircraft and flight-control integration, real-time C++ and Python development, simulation, testing, and flight-test support. The role collaborates with platform, avionics, flight-test, and aircraft engineering teams to deliver reliable autonomy software on embedded and NVIDIA GPU platforms.

Supports architecture, requirements definition, system modeling, trade studies, integration, verification, validation, and flight testing for hydrogen-powered UAS platforms. The role collaborates across engineering, product, and business development teams; performs risk, hazard, and failure analysis; supports airworthiness and cybersecurity compliance; develops requirements processes; participates in technical reviews; and mentors junior engineers. Periodic travel to customer, testing, demonstration, and field locations is required.

Leads technical project management for unmanned aircraft systems programs across airframe, propulsion, avionics, software, and payload teams. Owns integrated schedules, work breakdown structures, technical risks, budgets, configuration control, design reviews, and engineering process improvements. Coordinates with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, customers, and flight operations to deliver hardware and software from concept through flight testing and production while supporting aerospace compliance and regulatory requirements.

Leads manufacturing engineering and new product introduction activities, bridging design and production. Develops and optimizes assembly processes, tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and documentation; supports hands-on builds, troubleshooting, training, quality improvement, and shop-floor production. Applies DFM, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, PFMEA, and root-cause analysis while collaborating cross-functionally to improve manufacturability, efficiency, safety, traceability, and scalability.

Leads end-to-end government and commercial proposal development, including RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, BAAs, and OTAs. Coordinates Business Development, Capture, Engineering, Contracts, Finance, and Program Management; owns schedules, compliance matrices, proposal content, color team reviews, production, and submission. Manages OTA-specific requirements, templates, repositories, executive reporting, lessons learned, and process improvements. Requires occasional travel and extended hours during proposal deadlines.

Design, program, and commission PLC and HMI controls for hydrogen generation, storage, compression, and dispensing systems. Develop electrical schematics, enclosure layouts, power distribution, safety circuits, sensor and actuator integrations, and system documentation. Collaborate with mechanical, test, fuel cell, and production teams on validation, troubleshooting, field deployment, supplier evaluation, and root-cause analysis. The role requires hands-on work with high-pressure hydrogen systems, compressed gases, and fuel-cell hardware in laboratory, production, and customer environments.

Lead initial and low-volume production of hydrogen fuel cell powertrains and generation systems. Establish repeatable build processes, workflows, tooling, fixtures, test stations, safety controls, and quality checkpoints. Manage production staff, hiring, training, scheduling, throughput, and scaling plans. Drive continuous improvement in yield, cycle time, and cost while ensuring compliance with hydrogen, pressure-system, hazardous-material, and export-control requirements. Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and program management to meet delivery commitments.

Lead and execute end-to-end capture for DoD and Federal Civilian pursuits, design a right-sized Shipley-based capture process, mentor BD staff, build capture toolkit and metrics, drive go/no-go decisions, forge partner relationships, support proposals and pricing, and hire/scale a capture team while representing capture in executive and board-level reviews.

Develop and execute procurement strategies for materials, components, and services; source and qualify domestic and international suppliers; lead RFQs, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management; coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality to support NPI and production ramp-ups; mitigate supply risks, track procurement KPIs, and drive cost reduction and process improvements.

Design, execute, and document FAT and SAT procedures for hydrogen production systems. Instrument test setups with electronic loads and DAQ, run performance and endurance tests, perform pressure and leak checks, troubleshoot failures with engineering and quality teams, maintain/calibrate test equipment, support hazard analyses and compliance with ASME, CGA, and NFPA standards, and produce test reports and certificates of conformance.

Lead initial and low-volume production of hydrogen fuel cell powertrains and hydrogen generation systems. Translate designs into repeatable build processes, stand up production infrastructure, hire and manage technicians, drive throughput and continuous improvement, ensure regulatory and safety compliance, and scale production capacity toward higher-rate manufacturing.

Own configuration management for hydrogen generation and fueling systems: maintain BOMs, manage ECR/ECO/ECN change control, administer PLM/PDM systems, ensure revision control and traceability, and coordinate cross-functional teams to transition hardware from prototype to scalable production while meeting cost, quality, schedule, and regulatory requirements.

Perform CFD and analytical aerodynamic analysis for UAS, develop aerodynamic databases and 6-DOF inputs, define and verify aerodynamic requirements, support wind tunnel and flight test activities, collaborate with propulsion/structures/controls for aero-integration, run configuration trade studies, and produce technical reports and design review input to ensure vehicle performance, stability, and control throughout the design lifecycle.

Lead mechanical design, structural analysis, and system integration for UAV airframes and payloads across prototype and production. Drive validation testing, manufacturability, tooling, and cross-functional alignment. Mentor junior engineers, provide technical direction in reviews, and improve processes to ensure performance, reliability, and production readiness.

Lead business development for Intelligence Community, DoD intelligence, USCG, and State Department customers. Build pipeline, convert pilots/demos into programs of record, shape requirements, pursue contract vehicles, and coordinate capture, proposal, and cross-functional product feedback. Maintain IC and federal security customer relationships and provide forecasting and BD strategy.

Lead USN/USMC business development to build and convert pipelines from OTAs and prototypes into programs of record. Shape requirements, engage PEOs and sponsors, map contract vehicles, support capture and proposals, coordinate demos and industry events, and align product, engineering, and program teams to secure sustained Navy and Marine Corps procurements.

Lead and scale operations for UAV programs including manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, quality, and safety. Ensure regulatory compliance (FAA, export controls), support prototype to production transitions, implement continuous improvement, manage budgets and resources, and build a high-performing operations team aligned with engineering and program management.

Own and operate the companys ITAR/EAR export compliance program: manage DDTC/BIS license applications, conduct ECCN/CJ determinations, maintain license tracking and TCPs, perform screenings and audits, deliver training, support transactions and M&A due diligence, and serve as primary regulatory contact.

Provide executive support and manage daily office operations including visitor management and ITAR-compliant security protocols, supplies and kitchen management, travel booking, drafting communications, preparing presentations, event coordination, calendar management, and general administrative tasks.
