As a Senior/Staff Safety Compliance Engineer, you will identify regulatory hurdles, ensure product compliance, and collaborate with design teams to achieve certifications for market entry.

Own firmware release definition, integration, validation, and OTA strategy for power-conversion products. Coordinate stakeholders, scope releases, manage risk and test coverage, maintain traceability, and drive go/no-go decisions to ensure safe, timely ship of firmware on hardware.

Lead full-cycle recruiting for G&A and cross-functional roles at a fast-growing power-electronics startup. Source and engage passive candidates, manage interview loops and ATS tracking, partner with executives on hiring strategy, negotiate offers, and improve recruiting systems and candidate experience.

Work with engineers to design, model, prototype, and test medium-voltage power converters. Tasks include simulation, component selection, hardware bring-up, device characterization, lab testing (efficiency, thermal, EMC), and documenting results for design reviews.

Lead and build Heron Power's EHS function across R&D, NPI, manufacturing, and field service. Manage an EHS team, set strategy, ensure regulatory compliance (Cal/OSHA, NFPA, RCRA), run audits, hazardous waste and chemical programs, oversee training, emergency response, ergonomics, field service safety, and reporting to executive leadership.

Develop and deploy production test systems, fixtures, and instrumentation for PCBAs, subsystems, and products. Support DFM/DFT, validation, EOL testing, board bring-up, root-cause debugging, yield improvement, and production ramps. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and vendors to deliver reliable, maintainable test stations and manufacturing documentation.

Lead design and delivery of high-power grid-tied converters through architecture, circuit and system design, simulation, prototyping, validation, and production. Collaborate across firmware, mechanical, reliability, and manufacturing to optimize efficiency, power density, thermal and EMC performance, and ensure compliance with safety and grid standards.

Serve as the company’s first dedicated HR hire to build people operations for R&D-to-manufacturing scale. Own onboarding/offboarding, payroll for salaried and hourly staff, benefits, HRIS and system implementations, compliance with federal and California law, employee relations, manager coaching, performance cycles, and coordination with Finance, Legal, IT, and EHS for workers' compensation and safety processes.

Own the product strategy, roadmap, and phased delivery for Raven, Heron Power’s end-to-end business applications platform. Define build-vs-buy decisions, specify MES and core module requirements (WMS, QMS, MRP, SPC), manage integrations (ERP, CRM, SCADA/PLC), ensure compliance and traceability, partner across operations, supply chain, quality, finance, and engineering, and measure ROI and system performance to scale manufacturing systems from early production to volume.

Support wiring, fabrication, and documentation of controls and automation equipment for a pilot production line and lab. Assist with sensor/field-device integration, PLC/HMI programming, schematic review, SOP creation, and task tracking under guidance from a controls engineer.

Support design, validation, and characterization of magnetic components for medium-voltage power converters. Perform lab measurements, build prototypes, run electromagnetic simulations, analyze EMI/EMC, and document results while collaborating with power electronics and layout teams.

Support the Business Development team by researching and profiling target accounts, maintaining CRM and pipeline data, tracking market developments, preparing account briefings and meeting materials, and translating technical content into customer-facing collateral for energy and data center customers.

Lead end-to-end application testing for Heron Power's solid state transformer across AI data centers, utility-scale BESS, and PV plants. Bring up hardware in lab and pilot sites, write Python test automation, run integration with EMS/SCADA/DA S, operate high-power test equipment, validate battery and converter performance, and turn field findings into product improvements.

Lead prototype and early-production build programs: hire and manage pilot technicians, own schedule/resourcing/readiness gates, coordinate cross-functional teams, drive ramp-to-volume transitions, monitor yield and quality, and maintain program KPIs and risk mitigation.
