The Quality Engineer will lead internal, customer, and third-party audits; oversee FAIRs; monitor product compliance and process repeatability; analyze quality metrics; and drive root-cause and continuous-improvement initiatives. The role engages customers, suppliers, engineering, and supply chain teams, coordinates concessions, chairs MRB meetings, supports contract reviews and engineering changes, and mentors colleagues in quality best practices.

Serve as the technical liaison between customers, sales, and engineering to define requirements, recommend optical solutions, support design reviews, prototype evaluation, qualification, and production readiness. Provide application support, presentations, documentation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure manufacturable, cost-effective products and drive continuous improvement.

Set up and operate semi-automated machinery to manufacture precision optical components, follow engineering drawings and written procedures, maintain quality, safety and output targets, clean equipment and work areas, and support continuous improvement.

Develop and control manufacturing documentation (SOPs, work instructions, process specs), manage document control and ECOs, support process development, manufacturing readiness, change management, continuous improvement, training, and cross-functional sustaining engineering in a regulated precision-manufacturing environment.

Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets; oversee NPI, technology transfers, process improvements, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop supervisors, engineers, and technicians; manage capacity planning, metrics, and compliance with quality systems while collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and senior leadership.

Design, prototype, assemble and test fibre-optic and photonic subsystems (TRL3-7), including high-power optical amplifiers. Develop/execute functional and environmental test plans, perform fibre splicing and opto-electronic assembly, troubleshoot, engage customers, and contribute to technical reviews and reports.

Lead electronic design from concept to manufacture for opto-electronic sub-systems. Responsibilities include analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuit design, ARM-based firmware development, schematic capture and PCB layout, prototyping, reliability/obsolescence management, test and handover to production while supporting multidisciplinary NPD/NPI activities and customer-facing reporting.

Lead transfer of photonic products from R&D to manufacturing by driving DFM/DFA/DFX, process qualification, pilot runs, tooling and test development, and cross-functional readiness reviews. Analyze yield and quality data, manage engineering changes and BOMs, and run continuous improvement and sustaining engineering to improve manufacturability, reliability, and cost.

The Senior Production Planner develops production schedules, coordinates materials and capacity, partners with operations, and ensures effective inventory control, while tracking performance metrics and improving production processes.

The Optical Design Engineer will collaborate with Design Engineers to develop Acousto- and Electro-Optic Products, focusing on prototype build and characterization while evolving into product design over time.

Lead and coordinate manufacturing resources to deliver production plans, meet KPIs (on-time delivery, quality, productivity, WIP, scrap), manage teams and schedules, drive continuous improvement (6S/CI), ensure safety and quality compliance, and provide leadership/coaching to Team Leaders.
