Develop, integrate, test, troubleshoot, and deploy real-time emulation computer systems for electric-drive propulsion testing. Responsibilities include maintaining MATLAB/Simulink models, upgrading hardware and software, supporting component procurement, troubleshooting real-time applications and low-level drivers, and creating technical requirements, documentation, and test procedures. The role collaborates with customers and support teams in laboratory and industrial environments and may require occasional travel.

Provides shipboard and office-based testing, troubleshooting, and technical support for non-nuclear submarine systems during maintenance and modernization. Responsibilities include authoring Technical Work Documents, conducting system validation, resolving emergent shipboard issues, ensuring compliance with USN specifications, and collaborating with engineering, operations, testing, and Navy stakeholders. Supports electromagnetic compatibility and underwater electromagnetics activities for submarine electrical systems. Responsibilities include electromagnetic coupling and interference analysis, EMC testing, defining procurement test requirements, shipboard arrangement evaluations, system troubleshooting, whole-ship modeling, sensor-system research, and developing methods to reduce electromagnetic signatures.

Manages material support tasks for submarine ship alterations, including project budgets, financial metrics, task planning, cost and schedule tracking, and stakeholder coordination. Collaborates with finance, contracts, engineering, procurement, logistics, naval organizations, vendors, and customers. Requires project management, communication, analytical, and organizational skills, plus the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Occasional travel may be required.

Manage workers’ compensation claims from investigation through resolution, assessing causation, disability, reserves, and statutory compliance. Educate injured employees about benefits, coordinate approved vendors, and manage a large caseload involving employees, medical providers, attorneys, and other parties. Travel between Connecticut and Rhode Island workers’ compensation offices as needed.

Supports the company-wide electrostatic discharge control program across submarine platforms. Develops and implements ESD requirements, evaluates equipment affected by ESD events, performs root-cause analysis, participates in ESD classification testing, provides technical support, and conducts circuit-level analysis of IC susceptibility. The role also involves applying ESD standards, electrical fundamentals, component failure analysis, and system reliability concepts.

Supports the development of future submarine propulsion plant designs for VIRGINIA Class Block VIII and SSN(X). Develops structural concepts and analyses, integrates equipment arrangements, derives requirements, selects materials, performs structural calculations, and coordinates with engineering teams, shipbuilders, vendors, laboratories, and NAVSEA. Leads concept development efforts and advances designs that meet Navy technical goals while minimizing lifecycle costs.

Supports existing suppliers producing pump systems, rotating equipment, castings, machined components, and mechanical hardware for defense applications. Evaluates manufacturing processes, resolves technical and quality issues, investigates nonconformances and failures, drives corrective actions, tracks supplier KPIs, and provides guidance on machining, casting, assembly, testing, and inspection. Partners with engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain teams while maintaining defense-program documentation and compliance.

Supervise approximately 10 engineers responsible for designing and developing electronic payload launch control systems for submarine and other naval platforms. Lead technical execution, vendor management, systems engineering, testing, production support, and stakeholder communication across engineering, operations, purchasing, shipyard, and government organizations. Mentor and develop team members while supporting mission- and safety-critical systems requiring high reliability and stringent security standards.

Leads quality investigations and corrective actions for submarine construction issues at the Quonset Point facility. Coordinates recovery plans across departments, suppliers, shipyards, customers, and senior management. Analyzes quality data, manages corrective action requests and quality metrics, supports audits and certification activities, participates in SUBSAFE and related working groups, and drives first-time-quality improvement initiatives.

Supports sustainment engineering for Virginia-class and SSN(X) submarines by evaluating designs for maintainability, accessibility, reliability, lifting and handling, and lifecycle cost. Collaborates with design disciplines, shipyard operations, and maintenance stakeholders; uses Teamcenter to review 3D designs, supports engineering projects and trade studies, learns ship operations and maintenance systems, and participates in shipyard walkthroughs.

Develops, integrates, tests, maintains, and troubleshoots embedded shipboard software for U.S. Navy nuclear submarine power conversion, reactor, steam, and electric plant systems. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, software and interface design, hardware/software integration, unit testing, verification and validation, formal documentation, prototype development, and defect resolution. The role collaborates with systems, hardware, and test engineers while maintaining quality, schedule, risk, and process compliance.

Supports Navy propulsor and propeller engineering for submarine classes, including fixed assembly design, ship integration, engineering calculations, design disclosures, manufacturing and installation issue resolution, procedures, and lifting or transportation hardware. Provides shipyard construction support and collaborates with mechanical design, hydrodynamics, shafting, electrical, shock, and ship-signature teams. Occasional travel to shipyards, vendors, and Washington, DC may be required.

Performs systems engineering for submarine SONAR hull arrays and sensors across design, development, integration, qualification, testing, delivery, and fleet support. Conducts technology investigations, trade studies, risk resolution, cost-reduction analysis, obsolescence assessments, and technical refresh planning. Interfaces with NAVSEA, shipyards, Navy laboratories, contractors, and internal stakeholders while supporting producibility, engineering project management, and resolution of fleet issues.

Coordinates a Digital Enterprise test quality team supporting software and process testing. Develops monitoring practices, organizes reviews and surveillances, evaluates tests against procedures and end-to-end processes, coordinates with IT and project customers, tracks corrective actions, and improves regression test quality. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, consensus building, and experience with IT, software testing, PLM systems, or engineering processes.

Provides technical leadership and oversight for submarine logistics technical data, including ship systems and component manuals. Coordinates with engineering teams, shipyard organizations, vendors, and Navy customers to resolve technical issues, ensure documentation quality, estimate workloads, establish priorities, and manage schedules. Requires substantial submarine operational, maintenance, and documentation experience, along with the ability to direct others and obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
