Oversee and administer the electrical safety program at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Plan and control complex maintenance and facility work packages at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Develop work instructions, material specifications, labor estimates, permits, testing requirements, and isolation procedures. Manage priorities, compliance, quality, documentation, and training requirements while coordinating with maintenance, operations, engineering, and facility personnel. Investigate planning problems, recommend solutions, prepare reports, and ensure safety and security requirements are maintained.

Provides hands-on engineering support for machining centers and production equipment at the Y-12 National Security Complex. Responsibilities include installation, startup, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, configuration management, technical documentation, equipment evaluations, reliability improvements, and coordination with engineering, production, maintenance, and operations teams. The role requires compliance with nuclear facility procedures, safety standards, configuration controls, and conduct-of-engineering requirements in an active industrial environment.

Develop and evaluate metallic and non-metallic repair technologies for Naval Nuclear Laboratory applications. Responsibilities include laboratory testing, welding and fabrication process evaluation, experiment and test-plan development, technical documentation, vendor and subcontractor coordination, project tracking, technology qualification, and repair deployment support. The role collaborates with Naval shipyards, vendors, engineers, and federal stakeholders, requiring periodic travel to vendor facilities and shipyards.

Designs, evaluates, and modifies industrial facility electrical systems, including primary power distribution and systems rated 480V and below. Performs field walkdowns, engineering calculations, design reviews, design recovery, constructability and operability reviews, and technical research. Develops drawings, specifications, design packages, and engineering reports while coordinating with engineers, operations, maintenance, construction personnel, vendors, and subject matter experts. Work supports the DOE Y-12 National Security Complex.

Supports DOE Y-12 plant systems by coordinating configuration management, assessing system health and performance, preparing design change packages, evaluating safety authorization impacts, troubleshooting technical issues, conducting system walkdowns, and reviewing calibration, testing, spare parts, maintenance, and system turnover activities.

Provides electrical design engineering support for DOE Y-12 facility and production-area activities. Reviews overdue Change Requests, identifies affected configuration-managed documents, performs facility walkdowns, compares field conditions with engineering requirements, prepares redline markups, coordinates document updates with drafting personnel, and verifies revised drawings and documents. The role requires extensive electrical engineering experience in industrial or nuclear facilities, knowledge of NFPA 70 and controlled-document processes, and the ability to obtain a government clearance.

Designs and specifies custom specialty equipment for the DOE Y-12 National Security Complex, including gloveboxes, furnaces, vacuum systems, and casting or machining equipment. Produces build-to-print fabrication and procurement packages, performs mechanical design analyses, and leads multidisciplinary engineering teams. The role requires extensive experience with custom machine design, industry codes, procurement documentation, and 3D CAD modeling using PTC Creo or SolidWorks.

Lead architect for large, complex solutions spanning hardware, software, databases, networking, and telecommunications. Define Lab-wide requirements, design and implement enterprise solutions (often Oracle stack), manage projects end-to-end, provide technical leadership, ensure security and compliance, and coordinate training, documentation, and benefits realization across cross-discipline teams.

Provides technical and operational support for naval nuclear propulsion training simulators. Develops and executes tests, verifies simulated plant operations and responses, certifies hardware and software modifications, troubleshoots updates, and supports preproduction validation before field deployment. Requires prior A4W propulsion plant qualification, collaboration with engineering teams, cross-training on A1B systems, and semiannual travel to other NNPP sites.

Design and support instrumentation and control systems for DOE’s Y-12 National Security Complex. Responsibilities include PLC/HMI control logic, process control narratives, electrical and instrumentation drawings, calculations, specifications, troubleshooting, field walkdowns, procurement support, and technical assessments. The engineer will develop detailed design packages for analog and digital systems, support construction and craft personnel, and collaborate within integrated project teams.

Manage technical and operational projects from initiation through completion, including requirements, deliverables, budgets, schedules, cost controls, and project team oversight. Support Primavera P6 scheduling, Cobra cost management, EVMS processes, schedule analysis, cost trend identification, and stakeholder alignment. Develop processes and work products, ensure timely execution, and provide innovative cost and schedule guidance. The role requires DOE/NNSA project controls experience and supports Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Author, revise, and validate technical and administrative procedures for Y-12 activities (inspection, testing, metrology, radiography, weld inspection). Ensure compliance with DOE orders, quality manuals, NCS and hazard analyses; coordinate reviews, implement hazard controls, and use TPAT/APAT processes and tools.

Support Commissioning and Start-Up (CSU) activities at DOE Y-12: test planning, execution, equipment validation, turnover coordination, punch-list tracking, and safety compliance. Prepare test records, participate in walkdowns, coordinate with construction, and support shift/overtime work to meet schedule and cost.

Manage a multidisciplinary electrical power and electronics team, oversee facility and machine power systems (480V/240V, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, generators), maintain electrical standards and documentation, support equipment integration and commissioning, lead root-cause analysis, manage vendors/contractors, and drive reliability, safety, and energy-efficiency improvements.

Provide occupational medicine clinical support at Los Alamos National Laboratory: assist physicians with treatments, patient disposition, workplace medical issue identification/correction, employee counseling/education, resolve complex clinical problems, and contribute to organizational objectives while planning and executing assigned activities.

Author, revise, and validate technical, administrative, and enterprise procedures for Y-12 activities (dimensional inspection, metrology, material testing, radiography, weld inspection). Ensure compliance with DOE/Y-12 procedure processes (Y15-232/Y15-235), implement hazard controls, coordinate reviews, and verify procedures can be performed as written.

Design and develop I&C detailed design including P&IDs, panel wiring, cable designs, PLC and control software specifications, power single-line diagrams, control strategies, and test/qualification procedures while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and writing design documentation.
