The role also requires expertise in commodities, hedge strategies, derivative accounting, ERP systems, KPIs, and multi-site operations.

Assists the Cattle Manager with directing feedyard operations, supervising cattle-handling crews and staff, coordinating schedules, maintaining herd health and medicine inventories, processing and documenting cattle, managing cattle movement and sorting, maintaining facilities, enforcing safety procedures, and making operational decisions during the manager’s absence. The role requires outdoor work, heavy lifting, livestock handling, and Class A CDL certification.

Provide hands-on veterinary support in a feedyard: identify/treat sick or injured cattle, manage treatment records, perform necropsies, train staff on handling and surgical techniques, maintain medicine inventories and animal health metrics, assist with facility maintenance and cattle sorting, and support the Staff Veterinarian and Cattle Manager in animal health programs.
