The Controls & Automation Engineer diagnoses and resolves automation failures, enhances system reliability, and mentors technicians to ensure optimal robotic performance in manufacturing environments.

Provide technical escalation support for Field Service Engineers across assigned automation systems. Diagnose failures using logs, reproduce issues in-house, test PLC/robot/software/electrical fixes, document troubleshooting guides, identify fleet-wide trends, and drive permanent product fixes with Engineering. Work on-site in Bolingbrook, IL or Oakland, CA and travel occasionally.

Serve as the technical escalation point for Field Service Engineers to diagnose, reproduce, and resolve complex failures across mechanical, electrical, PLC, robot, and software systems. Analyze logs and fleet data, build troubleshooting plans, test fixes in-office, and escalate systemic issues to Product Engineering while maintaining knowledge base and reducing repeat site visits.
