The internship includes exposure to facility engineering responsibilities, plant routines, food safety, quality systems, and production environments with machinery and confined spaces.

Supports the production plant project engineering team at fairlife’s Coopersville facility. The intern will learn to lead and report on high-priority projects, collaborate with team members and contractors, develop processes and standards, and understand facility routines, manufacturing complexity, food safety, and quality requirements. This is an on-site, 11-week summer internship involving standing, walking, machinery exposure, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Designs and delivers technical training for manufacturing employees, including onboarding, qualification, recertification, and Certified Trainer coaching. Develops curricula, SOPs, job aids, assessments, and hands-on practice; analyzes skills and performance data to identify training needs; maintains qualification records and metrics; and leads training workstreams for equipment, process, capital, and product changes. The role requires collaboration with manufacturing leaders and SMEs while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, PPE, and site safety requirements.

Lead a technical team to improve reliability of plant processing equipment through engineered solutions, predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, capital project support, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality.
