Develop scalable distributed systems and core client and driver experiences for Dremio’s lakehouse platform. Responsibilities include software design, development, testing, deployment, code reviews, open-source contributions, collaboration with program managers and partners, customer engagement, mentoring, and recruiting. Design and improve Dremio’s distributed query execution engine, including query operators, expression evaluation, scheduling, memory management, runtime planning, and performance optimization. Diagnose correctness and scalability issues using profiling, telemetry, benchmarks, and production data. Optimize Java and JVM behavior, collaborate across engineering teams, validate AI-assisted implementations, contribute to technical direction, review code, and mentor engineers.

Build and maintain CI/CD systems, developer productivity tools, cloud infrastructure, and release engineering workflows. Automate local development and manual processes, manage infrastructure access, troubleshoot performance and reliability issues, document resolutions, and keep development branches stable. The role also includes infrastructure work across AWS, GCP, and Azure, code reviews, reporting on CI/CD health, and collaboration with engineering teams.
