Teams at Communities In Schools of Georgia

Supports academic instruction, tutoring, homework assistance, enrichment, student supervision, behavior management, attendance tracking, and safety procedures in an afterschool setting. Provides individual and small-group support, collaborates with school and program staff, communicates with families, maintains records, and follows confidentiality, emergency-response, and mandated-reporting requirements. Assignment may be as an Afterschool Teacher or Paraprofessional based on education, certification, and experience.

Coordinates Communities In Schools support services at a school site. Builds partnerships with administrators, staff, families, volunteers, and community organizations; leads needs assessments and school support plans; coordinates tiered, evidence-based student services; monitors outcomes; adjusts interventions; evaluates effectiveness; and prepares annual reports. Supports positive youth development, student asset building, family engagement, and services for students at risk of dropping out.
