Serve as the technical authority for signal processing, inference, and machine learning systems that convert optical signals into clinical brain-monitoring measurements. Lead algorithms from research through validated production implementation, establish standards for uncertainty, calibration, reproducibility, and evaluation, and guide technical reviews, publications, patents, and regulatory documentation. Mentor data scientists and collaborate with R&D, Clinical, and Software Engineering teams.

Design and build a research platform for reproducible scientific analysis, including reprocessing pipelines, evaluation harnesses, cloud compute and data access, engineering standards, CI, testing, and regulatory traceability. Partner with scientists to create usable tooling, improve research-to-software workflows, mentor junior developers, and establish the platform engineering function. The role requires deep Python and experience with reproducible scientific or quantitative workloads.

Manage accounts payable, invoice coding, payment runs, bank and card reconciliations, cash transfers, supplier queries, and weekly cash reporting. Support month-end close through accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations. Administer Xero and related finance applications, while identifying process improvements through automation and AI.

Leads the company-wide Quality function across QMS, design and software quality, supplier and manufacturing quality, audits, and post-market processes. Ensures compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, EU MDR, and UK requirements; oversees design controls, risk management, software quality, cybersecurity, supplier qualification, complaint handling, and production readiness. This hands-on director will build the Quality team, write procedures, lead audits, support clinical data quality, and partner closely with Engineering and Regulatory Affairs.

Owns clinical site monitoring across CoMind’s clinical program, conducting qualification, initiation, interim, and close-out visits. Responsibilities include source data review, query resolution, site performance oversight, issue escalation, CAPA support, investigator relationship management, IRB submissions, Trial Master File maintenance, regulatory support, site activation, and investigational product accountability. The role requires approximately 50% travel and collaboration with hospital clinicians and study teams.

Lead software verification and validation for safety-critical medical device software, developing test strategies, protocols, execution reports, compliance-as-code workflows, and automated quality gates. Drive CI/CD and test automation, apply TDD and BDD, and collaborate with systems engineers to test hardware-integrated signal-processing applications. Ensure compliance with IEC 62304 Class C and ISO 14971 throughout the software development lifecycle.

Build and maintain on-device LLM software that transforms live neuromonitoring signals into actionable clinical insights. Responsibilities include AI integration, model evaluation, prompting, guardrails, inference optimization, medical device software development, cybersecurity and regulatory compliance, and fleet reliability. The role requires close collaboration with hardware, product, and clinical teams while ensuring safe, reliable performance on constrained hardware.

Lead and execute laboratory, phantom, benchtop, and in-vivo experiments for non-invasive optical neuromonitoring. Own experimental workstreams from protocol design to analysis and reporting, develop and validate tissue-mimicking phantoms, acquire physiological optical data, troubleshoot systems, generate datasets to support product development and ML, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams while mentoring junior staff.

Lead embedded and real-time C++ development for a regulated medical device: design hardware abstraction, device drivers, and data acquisition; define technical strategy; ensure IEC 62304-compliant software quality; collaborate with FPGA/electronics teams; mentor engineers; contribute to risk management and system integration in a safety-critical clinical environment.

Lead and grow a cross-disciplinary software team building embedded C++/CUDA, GUI, and firmware for a Class C medical device. Own technical roadmap, architecture, and delivery from prototype to production, ensure compliance with medical device standards, collaborate with hardware and clinical teams, and manage external partners while maintaining hands-on code and design review responsibilities.

Lead and grow a test and DevOps engineering team for a regulated medical device software stack. Own CI/CD, Yocto-based embedded Linux builds, signed update mechanisms, cloud data pipelines, test automation, compliance-as-code to IEC 62304/ISO 14971, and coordinate cybersecurity and release processes while contributing hands-on to architecture and code.
