Leads investment strategy for insurance balance sheets and broader portfolios, including strategic asset allocation, liability-aware investing, portfolio construction, capital efficiency, liquidity, and risk management. Advises senior executives, Boards, and investment committees; oversees strategy implementation, performance analysis, stress testing, and governance. Leads the Investment Strategy function and collaborates with Risk, Finance, Actuarial, Product, Treasury, and Operations teams.

Partners with investment leadership to manage operational risk, compliance, governance, regulatory obligations, controls, incidents, and business change. Advises on financial services regulation, supports transactions and new products, facilitates risk assessments, maintains GRC frameworks, delivers reporting to senior committees and Boards, and strengthens risk culture through training and stakeholder engagement.

Lead the greenfield development of Challenger’s React digital platform. Own React architecture, engineering standards, reusable component libraries, API and BFF integrations, CI/CD pipelines, quality controls, security, performance, accessibility and observability. Provide hands-on coding, code reviews and technical leadership while influencing internal teams and delivery partners. Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Design, Security and Accenture teams to establish scalable digital portal foundations and grow internal React capability.

Prepare statutory accounts, perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, consolidation entries, P&L and balance sheet analysis, and support month-end close. Liaise with auditors and tax, improve processes and controls, coach team members, and manage assigned complex entities across investment portfolios and annuity insurance products.

Execute and implement complex investment, insurance, reinsurance, funding, and cross-border transactions. Structure solutions, support negotiations, coordinate governance and approvals, onboard investment managers, and establish operating models. Collaborate with Investment, Finance, ALM, Risk, Operations, Legal, and external counterparties to deliver commercially effective, risk-aware outcomes in a regulated financial services environment.
