Responsibilities include evaluating unit targets and constraints, optimizing process plants, supervising plant development, improving energy efficiency and safety, supporting reliability efforts, and collaborating across engineering and manufacturing teams. The role includes rotations, structured technical development, and opportunities across process design, process safety, project development, operations, and commercial functions.

Supports refinery operations, maintenance, reliability, projects, outage activities, troubleshooting, and technical solutions involving electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Responsibilities include equipment design, power distribution, instrumentation analysis, ladder logic, emergency shutdown testing, root cause analysis, supplier data review, construction support, maintenance strategy development, and collaboration with process engineers and frontline teams.

Supports refinery reliability and maintenance through piping layout, fluid-flow and flexibility analysis, pressure-vessel design repair, equipment troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and engineering projects. The intern works with multidisciplinary operations, maintenance, environmental, and safety teams; applies ASME, API, ANSI, and ASTM codes; and provides technical support for operating units and major maintenance events.

Supports refinery operating units and multidisciplinary engineering projects. Responsibilities include designing and analyzing fluid-flow piping systems, troubleshooting equipment failures, developing repair plans and improved designs according to industry codes, conducting engineering analyses for business decisions, and improving process efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness. The internship provides exposure to refinery processes, equipment design, maintenance events, and plant engineering fundamentals.

Supports refinery operations through mechanical engineering analysis, equipment troubleshooting, piping system design, stress and flexibility analysis, root-cause investigations, repair planning, and improved equipment designs. Collaborates with operations, maintenance, environmental, and safety teams while applying engineering fundamentals and industry codes. Interns also perform analyses supporting financial decisions and help improve process efficiency, cost effectiveness, and competitiveness.

Participate in bp’s three-year early-career program, developing seismic imaging technologies through research in seismic acquisition, data processing, wave propagation, numerical simulation, inverse theory, and reservoir characterization. Implement and run algorithms on high-performance computing platforms to address subsurface challenges across exploration, production, carbon capture and storage, and low-carbon energy. Collaborate with scientists and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders through two 18-month rotations, including field experience.
