The graduate will complete engineering rotations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams supporting 24/7 midstream operations.

Responsibilities include designing and analyzing fluid-flow piping systems, troubleshooting equipment failures, developing repair plans and improved designs according to industry codes, conducting engineering analyses for business decisions, and improving process efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness. The internship provides exposure to refinery processes, equipment design, maintenance events, and plant engineering fundamentals.

Responsibilities include piping system layout, piping flexibility and fluid flow analysis, pressure vessel design and repair, equipment troubleshooting, root-cause failure analysis, maintenance support, and applying ASME, API, ANSI, and ASTM codes. Works with multidisciplinary operations, maintenance, environmental, and safety teams to improve cost effectiveness, efficiency, reliability, and technological competitiveness.

Supports refinery operations through mechanical engineering analysis, equipment troubleshooting, piping system design, stress and flexibility analysis, root-cause investigations, repair planning, and improved equipment designs. Collaborates with operations, maintenance, environmental, and safety teams while applying engineering fundamentals and industry codes. Interns also perform analyses supporting financial decisions and help improve process efficiency, cost effectiveness, and competitiveness.

Supports process engineering projects for upstream production, including plant design, development supervision, operational optimization, reliability, and technical decision-making. The 12-week hybrid internship may include offshore development opportunities requiring HUET training and a valid TWIC card. Interns receive project-based experience, mentorship, networking, and performance development, with successful participants potentially considered for bp’s One Engineering Program.

Participate in bp’s three-year early-career program, developing seismic imaging technologies through research in seismic acquisition, data processing, wave propagation, numerical simulation, inverse theory, and reservoir characterization. Implement and run algorithms on high-performance computing platforms to address subsurface challenges across exploration, production, carbon capture and storage, and low-carbon energy. Collaborate with scientists and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders through two 18-month rotations, including field experience.

12-week summer internship supporting integrated subsurface projects across exploration, appraisal, development and production. Apply geological and geophysical interpretation (2D/3D/4D seismic, well logs, cores), seismic characterization (attributes, inversion, AVO, wavelet extraction), build structural/stratigraphic models, support pre-drill prognoses and well planning, evaluate seismic data quality, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams under senior geoscientist guidance.
