The Human Resources Generalist manages employee relations, benefits, protected leave, talent management, recruiting, onboarding, compensation analysis, compliance, reporting, engagement, and retention initiatives. The role advises leadership, investigates workplace concerns, coordinates vendors and agency programs, supports training, conducts exit interviews, and ensures compliance with labor laws. The position requires collaboration across agency worksites and occasional driving between locations.

Conduct phone intakes for individuals seeking shelter, assess emergency placement needs, process referrals, and coordinate with service providers and medical personnel. Collect client information using HIPAA practices, enter call and service data into HMIS, provide homeless-services information, arrange transportation, and escalate urgent issues. The role requires compassionate, nonjudgmental communication, CPR and First Aid certification, data-entry skills, problem-solving, and a valid California driver’s license with access to an insured personal vehicle.

Provides case management, housing placement, and supportive services to college students in a rapid rehousing program. Conducts intake and assessments, develops individualized action plans, coordinates with colleges, landlords, property managers, and community agencies, and connects participants with employment, health, legal, and behavioral health resources. Maintains case records, HMIS and AWARDS data, reports, and documentation. Transports clients as needed and supports life-skills development, housing stability, and program quality initiatives.
