Provides routine and urgent microbiology and infectious serology reporting in a large community laboratory. Supports technical and pre-analytical staff, engages with clinical referrers, and contributes to laboratory operations. Leads and supports scientific staff through education, training, and capability development while promoting diagnostic stewardship, efficient workflows, best practices, and consistent network-wide policies. The role is permanent part-time in Auckland and supports collaboration across a national laboratory network.

Leads daily Molecular and Serology laboratory operations, coordinating workflows and supporting diagnostic accuracy, quality, safety, and efficiency. Provides team supervision, training, mentoring, and communication while assisting the Laboratory Manager. Identifies and implements process improvements, supports service development, and handles workflow queries, reporting, rostering, inventory, and other administrative activities.

Provide diagnostic anatomical pathology services for Canterbury and South Canterbury, focusing on skin, breast, gynecologic, urologic, ENT, and GI specimens. Participate in FNA clinic rotation, use digital pathology and immunohistochemistry, collaborate with a team of pathologists and technical staff, and support high-quality reporting.

Provide routine and specialized haematology diagnostics (blood smears, coagulation, thalassaemia, flow cytometry reporting, bone marrow review), support and train scientific staff, contribute to digital imaging and EQA morphology programs, and collaborate across a multi-site laboratory network.
